the thing about tomoaki and hajime as a couple is that under a thin surface veneer they are both just the most absolutely fucking pathetic people yet are deeply and catastrophically obsessed with each other

Shonen battle tropes all in War’s bag of cheap tricks as she grinds humanity into paste. Long running discussion of mass media as distraction and indoctrination. This guy actually hates Shueisha.

Chainsaw Man is simultaneously worthy of serious discussion for its heartfelt look at society and cycles of abuse and dehumanization, and it's also like, a fantastic nonstop barrage of shitposts

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

one possible reason for the stalemate Pochita and Yoru have now found themselves in is that Pochita got a powerup from eating Death’s flesh and Yoru has had her power decreased as the fear of war is/was primarily rooted in the fear of death

My best guess for what’s happening here is that Pochita ate Death hoping that Yoru would give up the battle because she wouldn’t win. It but, partly because Yoru doesn’t fully remember Death and partly because Yoru is Yoru, It Did Not Work

To be clear I would super happy to have some kind of overarching, recontextualizing reveal that does consider those background/out of sight actions, motivations, plans and alliances and puts everything into understandable place, but I think that would go against the point he’s trying to make here
Overall it really does feel like things are happening and characters are acting to achieve specific plot points rather than being written with consistent motivations or understood background activity of the characters involved

honestly really feeling like Fujimoto didn’t actually think of those three strategies Death had for Yoru nor wrote the character actions with an understanding of them

this is officially one of those "hey have you read chainsaw man" panels you show off to get people who haven't read chainsaw man to start reading chainsaw man

that being said fujimoto I think your political commentary would work just a bit better if you did five seconds of research to learn basic things about the US like that Michigan is not a city in Oregon
cool csm chapter but if I’m being really honest I’m ready for the story to go back to being a story instead of a very hamfisted political cartoon

also point to me for saying that death has in fact been erased from Yoru’s memories as well and that has entirely changed her own perception of self and purpose

I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.
