Lord if we keep the Aggies out of the SEC championship, I’ll consider this season a win.

The comparison of a Jack White/Eminem halftime show versus newly-country-Post Malone is just absolutely criminal.

Also, every year I’m thankful that I did not marry into a “turkey trot” family.

In a world where so much seems awful and suffering is increasingly present and in our face, I’m so thankful for my family, their health (Youngest has his cast removed this week), our loved ones and friends, and community found online.

Focusing on gratitude as an antidote to doomerism.

Last year, right before we served the meal, my mom dropped the cooked mac and cheese on the ground and my sister then slipped in it, and tried to grab the counter for support, and put her hand in the just-out-of-the-oven stuffing instead.

Hoping for a similarly memorable but more calm day today.

This is horrible for Jamaica. Horrible.

On a related note, lepto is one of the few pet diseases that will transmit inter-species and can make humans extremely sick. There's a cottage industry of MAHA dog owners/breeders that don't believe in the lepto vaccine and those people are evil.
Jamaica is seeing an outbreak of leptospirosis, just one of the many, many ways severe Melissa hits wll sicken and kill people there over the coming months and years

Red passed over the rainbow bridge today.

We got Red the same day we got Milton back in 2015, because I couldn’t decide which puppy I wanted. His original owners had surrendered him to a shelter. He was then adopted out and his adoptive family returned him to the shelter a few weeks later.

There needs to be a word for the feeling of when you switch your original flight to an earlier flight, and then your earlier flight gets delayed, and you end up taking off later than your original flight

Me: “How many times can you remember me being all pumped up for an important UT game on a Saturday night and then being disappointed in the result?”

Husband: “Almost every time. I can’t remember a big win.”

And that’s being a Texas fan.

I am, humbly, a very good home cook.

But nothing—NOTHING—hits like Wing Stop after a day spent moving furniture and boxes and eaten while watching football.

and a worker tier whose emails are like:

Dear Jim,
First of all, I *love* this idea! Unfortunately, I spoke with Legal and identified a few issues with this approach. For starters…
Well, it's a little clearer now why billionaires are so invested in technology that produces better written emails.

Good riddance to Nico Harrison, the personification of everything that’s going on. Blew up something good because he didn’t understand it and it didn’t conform to his vision of toughness. One of the clearest pictures of Everyone Is 12 Now ever produced. Untold damage to my psyche. Enjoy podcasting.
