Glad to hear it, honestly. "Avowed" was really good but definitely felt like a rough draft. As I said in my review last April, it's setting up for a "New Vegas"-like sequel that expands into something really special.

That's cool, but what Americans really want is ICE to be abolished and for you to do your job or fuck off so someone else can.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

“Reform”, huh? Yeah just need to do a little tweaking

Boomers need to get the hell out of the way already. Beyond useless. So fucking tired of people my dad’s age having so much power

You could probably convince Christopher Judge to host an in-character parenting advice podcast at this point, and people would come out in droves to hear it, but Sony would rather produce this slop no one wants and will never listen to.

The reason Absolute and Ultimate comics are populating sales charts is that the really interesting books that may excite new readers are still struggling to get past 5 issues.

Sometimes you have to say it out loud to appreciate how dire t all is:

The president just openly declared his plans to steal the midterm elections — in an interview with the former number two person at the FBI.
Trump: "These people were brought to our country to vote, & they vote illegally. The Republicans should say, we should take over the voting in at least 15 places. The Republicans ought to nationalize the voting. We have states that I won that show I didn't win. You're gonna see something in Georgia"

Incrementalists take it on the chin again. This is why they hate Mamdani. He's giving up the game that people in power HAVE POWER and don't solely exist to beg you for $5 every day. He's ruining the Democratic Party by showing voters that they have the power to do stuff instead of crouching in fear

Again, the very high probability outcome is a Democratic win & power transfer, but we still need to take seriously the low-but-unacceptably-nonzero probability that either/both the actual elections or the Jan 2027/9 post-election events will not happen as the laws & Constitution say that they will.
Look, by far the most likely outcome is still that Dems win in 2026 in a landslide, because Real Folkz hate fascism & these guys are Not Very Bright & things have gotten Out Of Hand.

But if you still think unprecedentedly authoritarian stuff is crazy & not a nonzero probability, I just don’t know 🤷‍♂️
The common 🧵 in every single election, from Susan Crawford in Wisconsin to Zohran Mamdani in NYC to Taylor Rehmet in Texas, is that a clear majority of voters don't like evil, hate, incompetence, & far right authoritarianism. The policy details are election-specific, but that's the hummable tune.

You don't have to believe that the fascists are competent enough to suppress voting everywhere in 2026 or 2028. You just have to believe that they can depress minority turnout in 5-10 cities to affect entire Senate races & the Electoral College. 2024 was decided by 120K votes in 3 states, after all.

Oh nice. I played a few hours of AITD1 on some ancient Interplay collection, not to mention I was just watching an @hbomberguy.bsky.social Patreon vid where he played AITD2. Not really sure what to say other than they're classics. Probably exhausting if you have no interest in pre-RE horror.

For context: BATTLEFIELD EARTH, industry shorthand for irredeemable bomb, did $11.5 million in its opening weekend on a $44 million budget.
Embarrassed for my colleagues at the trades, who yesterday breathlessly reported that MELANIA would do $8 million at the box office this weekend, and now, when the number comes in at $7 million, are breathlessly spinning that as a win, too.

$7 million on a $75M investment is not a win—period.
