Fellow authors, I love you all, but this is not Twitter. Please think about ditching that habit of repeatedly spamming the same link to your one book over and over again. Post your pets, share a photo of the flowers you saw today. Bring some Joy here with you, we all need it now more than ever.
I'm so sorry but why do I always forget that ZZ Top actually fuckin' slaps?

What an absolute fucking MANCHILD he is. Just astounding.
Trump has added new plaques under his ‘presidential walk of fame’ in the White House.

On Obama: “Barack Hussein Obama was the first Black President…One of the most divisive political figures in American history.”

On Biden: “Sleepy Joe Biden was, by far, the worst President in American History...”

Man, 2nd Amendment brains are so blendered by hateful rhetoric. Every post about the shooting in Australia on Threads is crammed with snarky, sociopathic comments like "WELP SO MUCH FOR YOUR GUN CONTROL LOL" and I really do think these folks would just let children die then give up their Pew-Pews.

When my sister was in college she confided to our Mom that she was worried she was pregnant (she wasn't). Mom told her that if it was true, she would never speak to my sister again.

My Mom also once said "Love is my superpower". 🙄🙄🙄

YES. I pay a *premium* for an apartment that's close to the train stop I take to work. And even then, I run so many errands where I either have to spend hours walking and taking multiple trains / busses, or paying out for rideshares that make my errands even *more* expensive. It's all Lose / Lose.
I know it's too much to read the words that many of us write, but what we are actually mad about are systems that force people into car dependency and policy choices that mean living somewhere walkable and bikeable with robust public transit is ridiculously expensive. We want to fix this!

As someone who does not drive due to vision issues & who lives in an area where living without a car is very difficult and expensive, I resent people treating carlessness as some sort of pious luxury. Everyone I know outside major cities who doesn't have a car is disabled or poor.

AI is not here to cure cancer, it's here to get specific, individualized data on us to maximize the amount of money extracted from us to make billionaires into trillionaires. Period. Right now, tech companies have a social graph of us. Like, they know I'm a millennial Minnesotan suburban mom.

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

Another way to restart the world’s idea machine is to restore funding and grants to universities, researchers, and artists.

What if people just need more health and financial security and a fuckin' break from chaos and a little whimsy in their lives instead of tripling their electricity bills to feed the Billionaires' slop machines?

The speed with which certain people are just abdicating their lives to a computer they don't control is sickeningly astonishing.
tesla owners admitting without shame they don’t know how to drive anymore

I signed up for Nextdoor a month or two ago just to kinda lurk and see what is being discussed by my neighbors. I have now come to the conclusion that most of the people within a twenty-mile radius of me have suffered some kind of untreatable brain injury. It's actually astonishing to witness.
December 14, 2025 at 9:36 PM
Totally for this, but also, as an urban non-driver, I'm less concerned about someone's car's top speed and more concerned with how people routinely violate low speed limits. I know fast highway driving is dangerous, but idiots doing 35-40 in a 25 routinely end people in cities.
one of my longstanding takes is that car manufacturers should be forced to install mandatory speed limiters in every new vehicle and people react to that like I'm advocating to strip them of their right to free speech

When I get brave enough to finally publish my homebrew TTRPG, I'm gonna quote this on page one:
Sorry - gotta keep ranting here: OK DINGLEBERRIES TRY JUST ONCE TO BE CLEVER. Try a little to be witty, to develop actual connection & repartee with your party and your GM. Maybe develop an internal life that can inform how you play, use your senses of empathy and imagination. THAT'S WHAT IT'S ABOUT

Folks, I had a dream that I was visiting another city and eating at a sidewalk bistro and down the street some cops were chasing after several people WHO WERE ON FIRE and I turned to someone next to me and said "life in the big city I guess" and then I decided to go sightseeing. Big yikes. 😬🤯
December 14, 2025 at 3:49 PM
Those types of dingleberries always hate anything that makes TTRPGS more relatable. I bet he's got some really strong opinions on the introduction of the Dragonlance adventures and how they "ruined" D&D *forty friggin years ago*.
I cannot express how pathetic you have to be to believe this happened in the TTRPG hobby in the last decade

Very well: impulsive, small US #KindleBookGiveaway: 4 copies of The Indestructibles by @matthewphillion.bsky.social, and 4 copies of Action Figures - Issue One: Secret Origins, by @mbaileywriter.bsky.social, both of which are very good superhero novels, and the start of their respective series.
Also, while I love some of the franchises and IPs these companies own, this holiday season, as one big superhero owner goes deeeeep on AI and the other is close to being bought out by like, war-crimers, maybe scope out some indie superhero/sci-fi stuff. Might find a new favorite.

NOPE. That's not my Memere, it's a chatbot pretending to be her, she wouldn't have given (and can't give) consent to this. Turning a perished loved one into some kind of Cursed Tamagotchi is fucking awful and anyone who does this is a ghoul.
