i basically always love LV.4's freeform hardcore albums, and this one from 2017 doesn't disappoint in the slightest. almost everything here is super enjoyable, with only "Spirit the atom" and "Stage 5"'s radio edit falling short. that's still an 8/10 hit rate

Radiant Silvergun

it has a rather standoffish start where it kills you to death on boss 1, but once you realize that you're building power and just how intricate in mechanical density this game actually is, it becomes somewhat addictive trying to get further and further. i love killing ultraman

i found robert black a really compelling character, and the way moore weaves the lovecraft mythos with real life is really enjoyable. i prefer promethea's more positive version of a dream apocalypse, but the horror depicted here has a value of its own.

my ability to appreciate this is once again hampered by the fact that i've never actively listened to the musical act that is the focus, but even from this emotional distance you can tell this must've been a hell of a thing to witness live. they don't make 'em like they used to.
