It's that time of year again.... this is your reminder to go unhook the hose from the house to lessen the chances your pipes freeze and explode and cause a lot of problems you don't wanna pay for.

This is great. Now we just need a hundred other Dem politicians to speak this bluntly.

I think it’s important to remember that a lot of American universities have been collaborators for ever. That’s what legacy admissions are. It’s bowing to power.

Just to be clear. I live in KY where we have a Democrat for government who has vetoed every piece of anti-trans legislation he’s gotten and has never thrown trans folks under the bus. Going after marginalized groups to try to win is loser energy.

a lot of people are quoting this and saying things like “standing up for trans rights is a winning political strategy” and while I agree with this, win or lose standing up for trans rights is important - no, vital - because it’s the right thing to do.
Zohran at the rally for trans youth on february 8 ❣️ he was polling single digits.

Georgia Democrats had not won a statewide race that wasn't for a federal office since 2006.
They won two races tonight, both against GOP incumbents.
The margins? 62% to 38% in both.

This needs more attention: Zohran SPLIT the straights with Cuomo. ALL of his margin was from LGBTQ+ voters. Every Dem who ever said “we should abandon the transes” needs this shoved down their fucking throat with a ramrod.

God. This does not seem good. (Non-Louisville folks, I am fine, we are sheltered in place 6 or so miles away from the airport.)

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.
Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.
Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.

My friend told me that her 14 year old son started doing laundry on Sundays for some of his elderly neighbors. He doesn't charge for the labor. And now he is the most popular person in the building and has non stop pies, cookies, and cake. The 14 year old should be our model of modern masculinity.

I just read a student paper that was insightful & distinct but grammatically clumsy (a ton of sentences with coordinating conjunctions). my first thought was, “I can help them with this. no big deal.”
grammar matters but if you grade for grammar I think you’re missing the point.
