Europe needs to threaten to repeal their anti-circumvention laws in response to US tarrifs and threats. Trump only listens to money so the EU needs to make the rich companies that are funding his tantrums scared. Europe implemented these measure in exchange for no tariffs but the Tarrifs are here.

Reminder for journalists and posters writing about these events: This is why it's called "less lethal" and not "non-lethal" or "less than lethal"

ICE could have killed Kaden with these munitions, it honestly looks like they hoped they would. Rubber bullets are not non-lethal.
“I will be blind for life. They pulled a piece of plastic the size of a nickel out of my eye. I had shards of metal, glass, plastic in my skull. They said it was a miracle I survived.”

Kaden Rummler was shot in the face by Trump’s ICE goons, then dragged

Last year's arrest of Mahmoud Khalil was more than just a chilling act of political repression, it was an attack on all of our constitutional rights. Now, as the crackdown on pro-Palestinian free speech continues, Mahmoud is being threatened with rearrest. Mahmoud is free—and must remain free.

Have you been armchair posting about wanting a national strike over the behavior of this administration?

I want you to put your money where your mouth is and join Minnesota Unions, Faith leaders, and Community Organizers in an economic blackout on January 23.

For a base that supposedly doesn't like pedophiles, they seem to vote for / protect a lot of them.
Let's be clear. Donald Trump will indict the Fed Chair, kidnap foreign leaders and kill American citizens in MN if it distracts you from asking WTF is in the Epstein files because HIS BASE doesn't like pedophiles. None of this is normal. But everything he does is from weakness right now.

If you aren't aware, folate (or folic acid) is found in several fruits like Oranges and Bannanas. Its a very important nutrient that your body cannot make on its own. So it's important to fortify foods with it for communities with limited access to fresh fruit.

Almost nothing more American than Remittances. And is it only a problem because the guy runs a phone repair shop in a co-op? Or would Shirley be doing this at a farmer's market in South Carolina? (I suspect not)
Oh no, 😱

Nick Shirley is really onto something here. Immigrants running a co-op flea market and earning a living.

Extremely American.

Nick Shirley’s contribution is filming them and stoking fear for his latest grift. Bro needs to get a job and leave folks be.

A lot of the "I need a gun to protect myself from the government" crowd seem to be pretty pro cop murder.

I wasn't on board with the idea before but I'm starting to warm up to the "arm the left" folks...

A year ago today was the start of violent, terrorizing raids in California’s rural Central Valley. Violent federal agents were hunting down farm workers like animals.

Today, they’re in the streets of Minneapolis. Our communities should not be enduring this. None of us are safe until all of us are.

My Sister calls Minneapolis home, she has for a few years now. I have never been afraid to send her home from the holidays, until today. To my knowledge there is exactly one violent gang of murderers in Minneapolis right now, and it's this discount Gestapo bullshit that is ICE

If the US so much as sneezes in Greenland's direction it would be Denmark's right to invoke NATO's article 4 and they should do it.

What use is a security alliance if it cannot even secure against the aggression of one of its own members.
TAPPER: Can you rule out the US is going to take Greenland by force?

MILLER: Greenland should be part of the US. By what right does Denmark assert control over Greenland? The US is the power of NATO

T: So force is on the table?

M: Nobody is gonna fight the US militarily over future of Greenland

I'm not inclined to agree with Sliwa on pretty much anything, but I do think he hits the correct point here. The biggest threat to Zoran's policies are not the fiscal possibility of the policies or even the sustainability of them. It's what remains in the war chest to enact them in the first place.
this is the most incredible interview i’ve ever read. the aei guy tries so hard to get sliwa to trash mamdani and he simply won’t. he also brings up flaco (rip) unprompted.

What the actual fuck is a "public artist" and since when did artists not have a right to pick and chose when and where they do thier work?

Art is speech and in the US anyone is free to pick and choose the manner and content of thier speech, or indeed if they want to speak at all.
This is the logical and inevitable conclusion of the last decade of elite media "free speech" discourse.

@techaltar.bsky.social about your Nebula bonus video: I think the Linux flywheel has already started to turn. I think it likely seriously started a few months ago.
In the last few months, I have seen more interest in switching to Linux from my personal spaces than the rest of the year combined.

This is the first bit of content I've seen around the new Odyssey production and I already have some thoughts.

Ice cold take: there is a really good comedy retelling of the Odyssey that involves an Iphone an an Uber that could stand to be made by a talented storyteller.
