Nettle and Bone is some good dungeon fantasy. It's good other types of fantasy too, but when they're in the dungeon for a bit it's some damn fine dungeon fantasy.

NO-TELL MOTEL is so back.

The Employee Bundle is BACK in stock, and now includes the Door Hanger for when you wanna tell people to slink away or slink inside.

Keychains, door hangers, "Dice Trays" still available a la carte. Matchbooks with every order.

Check in: bannerless.games/shop
The No-Tell Motel bundle on a wood grain desktop. It features a copy of No-Tell Motel, two keychains with the logo on one side and "7" inside a star on the other, the door hanger with Stella the cover model saying "Shhh...." and the Dice Tray, which is clearly an ash tray. The No-Tell Motel "Dice Tray," which has the logo in the bottom and "sleep among the stars at the Stellar Motel!" on the rim. Two sides of the Room 7 Keychain, which is royal blue with gold embossing and a gold ring. One side is the No-Tell Motel key logo, the other is "7" in the No-Tell Motel star, for room 7. The No-Tell Motel door hanger. On one side Stella the cover model says "Shhh...." and the other side says "Please clean! It looks like someone died in here!"

I feel like they could skip a lot of drama and go straight to making Tron soundtracks.

A game that doesn't "support the story" would use a slow, methodical system to represent frenetic action or leave me on my own to create interesting problems and opportunities OR be so prescriptive that there's only one choice which means there are no choices.

Game mechanics DO a good job, I should go to bed.
itsdanphipps.bsky.social
If I'm saying it I probably mean the game mechanics does a good job evoking a feeling that matches the fictional moment it represents and/or it's creating situations that drive action/reaction at the table.

When people I don't like ask me about the process of game design, I send them this diagram from Richard Duke's 1974 book Gaming: the Future’s Language
An enormously complicated diagram, the child of several pie-charts that have undergone a process of nuclear fission, largely illegible. A caption at the bottom reads 'Figure 19. The Game Design Process'
