And that especially includes getting vaccinated during the pregnancy.
Among the scariest moments of my intern year of residency, infants with pertussis was definitely near the top. The best defense for kids under two months old is to prevent exposure by making sure everyone in the family is up to date on TDaP.

Jfc... we're just over 2 weeks until aca enrollment closes...
Trump’s idea looks pretty much like what we proposed—extend and reform Affordable Care credits; Johnson instead wants to rummage around in Republican box of stupid health care notions.
Trump to push new Republican plan on Obamacare subsidies
The plan calls for a short-term extension of the subsidies in exchange for new eligibility limits.

Yes it does...
It says a lot about our country that the FBI had no interest in interviewing Brett Kavanaugh but wants to talk to Mark Kelly.

Yep, middle class ain't what it was
"“Middle Class”- roughly 45% of the country—is actually the Working Poor. These are the families earning enough to lose their benefits but not enough to pay for childcare and rent. They are the ones trapped in the Valley of Death."
This is an insightful but deeply upsetting article about why everyone in the US feels poor, and why the current political situation emerges as a direct result.

Three things about the Witkoff tapes:

1) It appears Western intelligence services have decided to let Witkoff (and Trump) know they have recordings of their traitorous conversations w/Russia.

2) This Ukraine "deal" was all Witkoff's idea.

3) Congressional leaders should demand he be fired.
EXCLUSIVE: US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff advised Russia on how to pitch Ukraine plans to Trump, in audio files reviewed by Bloomberg

If trump makes it sound good, then it's a bad deal for everyone else...esp the most vulnerable of Americans
Trump’s plan for the Affordable Care Act makes some concessions to Democrats but still ultimately makes poor people pay more for worse insurance. @ddayen.bsky.social and Ryan Cooper report on the ruined health care system:

Trump’s Obamacare Plan Is Still Not Great - The American Prospect
The Republican plan to more than double premiums is gone, but the insurance will get worse, and the poor will pay more.

Mark Kelly: "I said something that was pretty simple and non-controversial, and that was that members of the military should follow the law. In response to that, Trump said I should be executed, I should be hanged ... it says a lot more about him than it says about me. I'm not going to be silenced."

The 'wellness' industry makes a hell of a lot more money than the pharmaceutical industry. By a lot. They are the real enemy to public health. These fear-mongering ignoramuses are always selling something, always.

Really important to stress that the Crown Jewels of the US higher education system were never the Ivies or elite SLACs (other countries have equivalents of these) but the well-funded, large, cheap, and excellently staffed public state university systems bringing high quality education to the masses.
One of the bragging rights that the US ed system had in the 20th century is that we didn't have education tracks. Essentially, any kid could go to a CC or state school & major in whatever they wanted to (obviously an oversimplification). I fear this aspect of the American dream is dying.

Homeland Security is calling U.S. cities “sanctuary sewers.” The Trump regime wants Americans to hate other Americans. It’s deeply unpatriotic and must be stopped.

DC has their heads up their you know where.... health care premiums are hitting all of us really hard. .. sorry for the taxi driver in this example
Vance asks for a "little bit of patience." Sound familiar? Hoover plunged the nation into Depression asking Americans "if you will have patience".

Meanwhile, a taxi driver with cancer in Arizona has premiums go up from $44 to $2,600 a month.
