Nightmare Before Christmas chronicles the invasion of God's heaven by the sexual perverts of Hell
not to downplay how magnetic purnell & moten are but fallout is a show that has a better sense than most how to use big names, and “intertextuality” really is the core of it. in a series already about the interplay between past & future it’s smart with how it weaponizes our own cultural awareness
Honestly the Fallout show is a shockingly well made piece that understands the intertextuality, both of Fallout as a franchise and the cast its using, in really interesting ways. I feel like the choices with Goggins Ghoul also capitalize on what he does best in the same way they did with McLachlan.

my dad’s visiting & asked to watch twin peaks because i have it on blu-ray & he’s never seen it before. so naturally once again i’m thinking about hank
watching blue velvet for the first time and rewatching dune (1984) reminded me of how enamored i was with how the fallout series chose to use maclachlan. felt like a full circle moment

can't bring myself to watch last dance but venom 1 and even let there be carnage were such guilty pleasures for me. was recently reminded of the absurd goth/horror wedding climax of 2, an inclusion which nearly tips the whole ridiculous affair into girl pervert territory

obvious caveat that there's room for both but i am VERY interested to see what ripple effects kpop demon hunters' runaway success will have on the next frozen. cos imo kpdh fleshes out a lot of the ideas in frozen's script that i've felt are kinda underbaked, and i wonder if other people will notice
