I like Bluesky but it's not going to be viable long term unless you follow me into the catacombs, where I have a pipe of what passes for Amontillado.

Should the economy be regulated by a democratic society to ensure that it creates opportunity and benefit for everyone? Or should it be a plaything for approximately a dozen of the world's most odious assholes? Who knows

Gender affirming care saves lives.
Do you have a firmest belief?

I’m texting a friend who just said “X is my firmest belief,” and I don’t mind telling you he sent me into an existential vortex of disbelief and non-meaning because I do not know what the hell my firmest belief is.

Yet another example of how services in MN vary by the county you live in. I know it's complicated, but there's got to be a better way.
We have a fam that is in dire need of a reasonable cemetery as cremation was fully against the deceased alignments. The fam prepares for a county assisted burial ($1500 supplied in Ramsey Cty, 3g in Henn Cty, more $ in others! Why county burial assistance isn't the same statewide support is messed.)

Aaah yes, Anoka County is suing the City of Anoka because the County put in a permit to build a parking RAMP, and "The city argued that zoning rules list “parking garages or lots” as permitted structures, but not “ramps.”

Me: okay! (Plans, schedules, sends out invites)

Remember 5 years ago when people thought there were coded messages in the Wayfair catalogue so elites could traffick children in giant cabinets? Anyway it turns out they just send emails like "hey it's me, your best buddy Pedophile Jeff, come do sex crimes at my house"

One thing I've done now that it's dark so early is I've switched up my routine. Instead of taking a shower in the morning, I take it in the evening and make a big deal about it: light candles, play special music, use special soap. It's helping a lot.

Hi Minnesotan Bluesky:

The DFL has a well-known transphobia problem. I'm organizing to change the party platform in 2026 to be explicitly supportive of trans people in Minnesota. This will provide a basis for expelling transphobia from our party.

My brother is a high school band director in Indiana and he is taking his band from a tiny rural school district to the State Finals today. Wish I could be there in person, but we are all in on this $30 live stream.

Going grocery shopping and delivering it to someone in my community who needs food today and whose car isn't working is extremely my jam

(yes, I also give cash directly to my local food shelf with an employer match)

My congratulations to all Baseball Perverts. It was their "super bowl" last night and it seems they all had a very bad time (in their culture that's how you have a good time)

During a local news segment last night the anchor reminded us to turn our clocks back and noted "we'll have extra light at in the evening but it will be darker in the morning" and I'm like...am I going crazy? Do they not have editors anymore? Did AI write their script?

We had three trick or treaters: our adorable two year old neighbor dressed as Mike Wazowski and two teenagers who, when I gave them half our bowl of full size candy bars because we don't get many kids, said "yeah, that's why we come here" 🤣

Every train that came through last night blew its horn repeatedly 😭 I genuinely don't mind living within spitting distance of a busy freight railway (it's better than my previous house near a freeway) but horns all night long are the worst.
There's something happening on or near the tracks that is causing every train to blow its horn repeatedly. Glad it's normally a "no horn" zone cause I don't think I could live here otherwise.
