God, Kari was my advisor in grad school and I remember bringing my then 6 year old to a presentation she did in this while I was in school and now the 6 year old is in college and things are so much worse than they were then.

I know someone who experienced the same growing up. I was talking about my own complications during childbirth and they commented that I shouldn’t do it in front of my child b/c they’d feel guilty & then related how their mother had constantly told them how she’d been so sick and it was their fault.

I’m making plans to go with one of mine and it’s in her college town. Far cry from when we made signs for the women’s march that quoted Hamilton b/c my kids were 9 and 7 and were obsessed.

They owe us $2500 from two years ago because they couldn’t match the payment I made on my account to the return that listed my husband’s name first. And then they lost the returns we mailed them twice. And yep, nothing to be done right now b/c of the shutdown.

Depends on where they live, maybe? My kids went to a private (Episcopal, non-seg academy) in the south and learned about him in the mythic sense. Then my older one got to college and none of her mid-Atlantic classmates (from public or private schools) had heard of the 1492 poem.

My husband’s grandmother caught Pat Dye cheating when he was a student at UGA, so it’s fitting that Auburn’s field is named for him.

So I’m really loving this ad with Josh Shapiro where he specifically uses the word abortion in reference to the justices up for reelection on the PA Supreme Court. It gives people a really clear example of what’s at stake with this election, rather than using more ambiguous language.

I’m so glad I decided to stay in the room when my husband started watching the first season a few weeks ago! (And yes, our son watched the finale with us)
