This peace deal only has 3 steps.
1. Russia gets the land
2. Trump gets a bribe
3. Ukraine gets an empty promise

Can you provide a list of Putin promises that turned out to be accurate? If not, it’s worth adding the comment to any of his statements.

Exactly. Ukrainian civil society, like that of the Republic of Georgia, is an example to the rest of the world. It simply cannot and must not lose the war. Democracy is rare in history; tyranny is the rule. If Ukraine loses, its vibrant civil society may be lost, perhaps forever.
The right step and an indication that Ukraine’s anticorruption institutions have reached a level of maturity absent in many European democracies. This happened thanks to Ukr civil society and ordinary people who rallied in the middle of war this summer to protect the institutions’ independence.

That would be the US's direct renouncement of the 1994 Budapest Memorandum & its indirect subversion of the 1968 NPT.

First, the US pressures Ukraine to get rid of its nuclear weapons. 30 years later, Washington punishes Ukraine for its naivety to trust in US security assurances.

The US is READY to recognize Russia’s control over Crimea and other occupied territories as part of a potential agreement — The Telegraph

According to the publication, this is the reason Trump sent Witkoff to Russia — with instructions to deliver a “direct proposal” to Putin.

It’s not a bias. It’s a transaction. Tens of millions of Ukrainian lives and the remnants of American respectability in exchange for an increase in the private fortunes of a few people.

So its now been 4 days since the Witkoff-Ushakov transcript was released. And in that time, Witkoff has been confirmed in office, has been told he is off to Moscow, and has been strongly supported by Trump AND Putin.

I find it interesting that so many people think the war will end with a negotiated peace agreement. The issue now they say is that Russia just needs to be pushed harder to negotiate in good faith. But would Russia start negotiating just because it's pushed back?

The war will end when the Ukrainian army withdraws from Ukraine.
Putin told reporters that the fighting will end when Ukrainian forces withdraw from the territories they currently hold.

Russia is never going to sign any deal that doesn’t meet its maximalist aims: the subjugation of Ukraine. And let’s face it, the Trump administration are now openly helping them.

It’s looking more and more like Trump has run a very bad set-up scam. As I said yesterday, it’s a nothing-burger, he’s just managed to spill most of it down his shirt.

1 Can't emphasize this enough. EU is home to multiple "second-tier" great powers — who are only "second-tier" because they chose not to make large investments in military capabilities — and is itself an economic & diplomatic great power. NATO is the most powerful security confederation in history.
It sure seems like Vance leads a faction that is enamored of 🇷🇺's cultivated cultural conservative "soft power", reflexively anti-Atlanticist, and stupid enough to think that wedging 🇷🇺-🇨🇳 is a) realistic and b) worth trashing our relationship with the world's third largest economy.

I have a question.

Under the laws of the United States, is Steve Witkoff collaborating with the government of Russia in this manner, on how to influence Trump to get what they want, considered treason?

I think the answer is yes - do you agree guys?

You have to ask, why was Witkoff chosen for this critically important role of special envoy to Putin? He had no diplomatic or foreign policy experience. No education on those subjects. So of all people, why him? I think what we all surmised is clear - Putin wanted Witkoff.
