On this date in 1937 the Red Sox acquire the contract of 19 yr old Ted Williams from San Diego of the Pacific Coast League. He will not report to the Red Sox until 1939, he spends 1938 with the Minneapolis Millers, the Sox AA affiliate, where he hits .366, with 43 HR’s and a 1.182 OPS.
