Sunday Times interview Tory "rising star" Katie Lam

She is clear she wants lots of legal migrants to be told to "go home" so as "to leave a mostly but not entirely culturally coherent group of people"

(The interviewer suggests she is scrapping ILR or stripping people of it)
Somebody in my course asked about number of references for our upcoming essay.
The lowest number somebody proffered was 6. I have 20...
...there is absolutely no reason why we should be building any storm surge barrier which doesn't have tidal energy production capability in it.
Oh, shit, I didn't think of THAT research proposal. Maybe I'll have to change my pitch.
“The Times” goes full “Daily Mail”.
Powerscaling the popes, antipopes, emperors and antiemperors like a low grade comic book influencer.

"Rain, rain Barkels" is somehow the most visually ominous part of this (the real terror being everything else we don't directly see on page)

Everything I do is as well hinged as a fire safe door in a university.
Must I sugar all the doorways and the glass rims again?
Oh no, the extinguishers are simply a snack for later. That makes perfect sense.
There were these random, perfectly ripe strawberries sitting in the hallway outside my flat this morning. Do we think it's an omen of some form?
Like yes, I know there's terror to be had, but first. I want to know about the upholstering on the armchair in DETAIL.
We should bring back the gothic tradition of some random dude babbling on about his drawing room for ten pages at the beginning, for it to never be brought back around.
Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat
A fan theory is "a fan supposition regarding a fictional setting which is not confirmed or refuted by any canon material". A head canon is "something a fan imagines about a character(s) that doesn’t explicitly appear in the content, but doesn't direct contradict canon".
It's the same thing.

Cover for the newly announced series The Crying Doll, the latest collaboration between Mariko Tamaki and myself, coming from Vertigo in 2026!! 🪆🩸
The original starting point of this was about whether or not Jason Todd was canonically trafficked as a child- somebody got upset because I said it was a HC, and they were insistent it wasn't canon but was "more than a HC" because there's vagueness in canon you can use to support it.

I adore StephCass, but as much as I can read or frame interactions on the page, it is not the canon intent of the author's (generally), and has never been DC's design or canon.

It has no more canon "worth" than, say, StephMia.

(This does not just apply to ships.)
There is no such thing as a middle point between "canon" and "head canon".

It is either directly true to the text and intent- whether implicit or explicit, or it is wholly reader interpretation.

Something being ambiguous enough that x or y can be read into it isn't "confirmation".
So, I put up an ootd to see what folks thought I'd study on basis of looks and sociology is definitely the closest, but the middle school English teacher one is a remarkably exact guess, given that's what I thought I wanted to be at 20.
An entire man, made out of ice cream?

Wouldn't eating all that give you a tummy ache?
