Just to let people know, I am probably going to be applying for any and all game writing jobs that are coming up for the rest of the year.

I have a hankering to get writing on a nice project with some cool people. I miss the creative banter of that process.

So hit me up if you know of anything!

We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

Ok, #Pluribus is pretty damn slow this week.
This is mostly just filler, and that's in a show that was mostly filler anyway.

As a writer, I'm banging my head off a wall watching this and screaming "GET TO THE NEXT PLOT POINT!"

BREAKING: This is huge news, the EU's equivalent of the 🇺🇸Supreme Court's 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges ruling.

🇪🇺Court of Justice just ruled all 🇪🇺countries must recognise same-sex marriages granted in other member states.

This effectively legalises gay marriage across 🇪🇺

Maybe I'm insane, but I'd love it if someone could explain to me the basic theory behind why governments lean towards caring more about corporations and financial industries rather than making sure that citizens have more money in their pockets.

Assuming it's not just corruption.

25% of core game dev jobs lost in Germany since 2023 is just an absolutely wild number.

"Compared to 2023, this means that around 25 percent of jobs in the industry have been lost."

So… can we all agree that #Pluribus has some clever ideas in it, but it’s really… really… really fucking slow.

I mean on a scene to scene level as well as on an episodic one.

Honestly (based on the first 4 episode) this should have been a single 2 hour movie.

Getting to the end of the original Uncharted, and my God this game is a slog.

I completely mixed it up with Uncharted 2 in my head. That one was at least fun.

Researching this week's column, I stumbled across something that amazed me:
the near-absence of reliable data about climate impacts over most of the
world. Due to the rich world's failure to fund research. We don't know
because our governments don't care. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
There’s a catastrophic black hole in our climate data – and it’s a gift to deniers | George Monbiot
Climate sceptics tell us that more people die of extreme cold than extreme heat. What’s the truth? asks Guardian columnist George Monbiot

I swear, Labour’s current goal seems to literally be to see how many traditional Labour voters they can disgust, by trying to out Tory the Tories.

The layers of 2025 Fucking Bullshit™ in this story are many.

- Awful, stupid AI art.
- Awful, stupid assumptions on its politics from flag-shaggers.
- Stupid assumptions on what it's about from some lefties.

It's just shit all over.
It’s the exclusive everyone wanted, the story that will win next year’s Pulitzer…

I can reveal London’s giant AI generated Christmas artwork, the subject of much online mockery, is being torn down - and I honestly *genuinely* think you’ll never guess why. www.londoncentric.media/p/ai-artwork...

The bizarre story of why a much-talked-about creation is being torn down. Plus: Docklands Light Railway extension, giant laser stalks the night sky, and more tales of Android phone theft rejection.

Happy #InternationalMensDay.

If there is a boy or man in your life who needs support, or help, or maybe just a friendly ear, today is the day to remember that maybe they want help they don't ask for.

Be kind, be supportive. Take care all.

Also Scotland have qualified for the World Cup. (First time in 28 years)

Picked up the Uncharted trilogy remaster the other week for buttons it’s weird replaying the original one.

It’s so… wee and rushed in comparison to later and similar games.

This.
I hate networking. Especially online.
Mainly since most people mistake my probably autistic sardonic chat for being scornful, unless they hear me talk IRL.

But also, it always feels so fake, and so many of the most “popular” folks are so inauthentic sounding.
networking is an incredibly important part of maintaining a professional presence in your creative industry, but it can be daunting. have you tried being completely fucking ridiculous online
