I've ranted about LLM "AI" elsewhere, and in replies, but to reiterate it in a thread that I can pin now:

One of the fundamentals of computer science is "Garbage In, Garbage Out". I learned this as a child, learning to program, over 40 years ago.

You cannot put bad data in, and get good data out.
May God bless the good ship Wollongong, and all who set sail in her.
The racist Tory, obviously, not your wife.
She's got her little cross out, to show how much she loves Jesus. 🤮

As far as I can tell, this policy would deport my Swedish wife (who has a well-paying job and pays thousands in tax each year, not that that should decide these things) because she "took" from society by going on maternity leave when our kids were born.
Tory policy is to revoke permanent residence (ILR) for everybody who does not earn £38k - deporting most nurses who have ILR

This is put in the video as "who is unlikely to contribute more than they cost"

NB: video does not say EU settled status is exempt

No govt since Idi Amin has done this

Goodnight everyone, and if you accidentally got an extremely recognizable Nazi symbol tattoo years ago and keep forgetting to get it covered up, maybe do that tomorrow and don’t spend any more extra years with an extremely recognizable Nazi symbol tattooed on your body

Wow sure hope the labour gov is gonna say this is vile and i should in fact, Not be deported
Here Lam explicitly sets out her proposal - which is official Conservative Party policy - to deport long-standing legal permanent residents who have *ever* claimed any benefit, including the state pension or child benefit (even if the child is British), or who earn less than £39K.
I moved to computer games after the council ranger told me I wasn't allowed to keep digging up the back yard, and if I continued, they'd notify the landlord.
hard to believe what some people spend their time doing when we still have soo much to discover about dinosaurs
Weird name for potato cakes, but... whatever.
On one hand, frustrating. On the other...
The name's Altman, Sam Altman. And I come before you good people tonight with an idea!

As the global market for "AI" hovers on the brink of collapse, Your Friendly Local English University is going all-in on redesigning everything about teaching & assessment on the assumption that "AI" is everything its promoters say it is.
It's a bit breezy outside, but so far, nothing significant here.

Anyway, the tl;dr to take away from all this is a thing I have been repeating for ages, which is that extremism symbols function on a plausible-deniability basis. People who use them 100% rely on normal people going "I had no idea, so maybe he didn't either."

Like this is really it

Declaring that someone is unfit to run for a public office is not the same thing as declaring that they should be banished from human society forever or publicly executed. No one is owed a Senate nomination
The AFL Men's league finished the season a few weeks ago, but the AFLW Grand Final is on November 29.
I was just idly thinking about it this morning, and realised that I have pretty much no-one in my life now who I can turn to when things get complicated, and I need someone to help me make sense of things.

I'm so sick of discourse from supposed allies about where trans people went wrong.

Where we "went wrong" is that billionaires spent unimaginably large sums to attack us repeatedly and major media outlets have spent a decade piling on.
It's weird that if I want to look through the East Wing of the White House, one of the few places I can do it now is in a computer game about the fall of the United States after a pandemic (The Division 2).
He's already saying he's going to "run" in 2028, and when you say "But that's unconstitutional!"...

He's wiped his ass repeatedly with The Constitution. Who do you think is going to stop him?
The current *tenant* of the main government residence is remodeling without approval, and arming his own private army.

If this was *any* other country, would you think they were planning to finish up at the end of their term limits?
chemical weapons could be tear gas and explosive components could be flash bangs neither of which are good but have been used a lot already domestically but missiles ??
On the subject of COVID, while I can’t prove it with facts and figures, I’m convinced my second bout last year has made me FAR more susceptible to URTIs in general, and my recovery period is longer.

I’ve normally had enough sick days each year to carry me, but not this year.
I think, probably obviously, COVID played a role too. Not so much the infection(s), but the experience.

However, that feels more like an accelerant, than a root cause.
