Oh ffs 🤦🏻‍♀️
The new integrated payments on Christchurch Metro lets you use a credit card, but you can only buy one ticket. Driver was having to give free rides to family members because there was no way to pay for them. Surprised nobody anticipated the rare scenario of buying two bus tickets.

After discussing the history of this electorate further, I have revised my view and apologise. Genter has been a list MP for all but one term, this is a Labour stronghold.
It really should be Renney’s to win.
By putting Renney up against Genter, one presumes Labour is feeling happy/stupid/cocky enough to believe it doesn’t need the Greens, can piss them off, and can achieve a single-party govt without Ardern.
I'm delighted by this news. Craig will be a fantastic MP.

After two years following work toward this, I can finally report that more than 40 duty lawyers are taking industrial action over pay rates in January.
It’ll include 80 per cent of those in Auckland District Court.
Duty lawyers act for those charged with criminal offences who don’t have lawyers.

Australia, the UK, the EU and Pacific nations backed a roadmap away from fossil fuels at COP30, but New Zealand didn't sign up

No matter what the politicians say, this is discrimination. Look at how the regulation is worded: This is not a ban on its use for a particular indication, it's a ban for a population.

The banning of gender affirming care/ puberty blockers for trans kids is a TEST. This Luxon-led coalition is seeing how much pushback they receive on this issue to figure out how to ban abortion & contraception next term. They're anti-choice, they will act on this. #nzpol #abortion #pubertyblockers

Hear the drums echoing tonight
But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation
She's comin' in, 12:30 flight
Her moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards 🎶salvation🎶
I see a ship in the harbour
I can and shall obey
But if it wasn’t for your misfortune
I’d be a 🎶heavenly🎵person today

The other overlooked thing with the IPCA’s McSkimming investigation was its own failure to pick up the fact it was tagged in a complaint by the woman in 2018 on Facebook.
This wasn’t 2008-era Facebook, this was 2018. But still, too many agencies see social media as a one-way comms game.

HDPA needs to resign over this. Women don’t need to be perfect victims to speak up. This woman has been mistreated by McSkimming, the Police and now NZME because of her desperation at being silenced by the agency women are told they MUST go to in order to be believed.

Tamatha Paul speaking for the Greens; starts with acknowledging the mana of mcSkimming's victim.

"Its particularly stinging to have to discuss this matter on this day" - because its meant to be about remembering victims of abuse and instead we're again talking about abusers #nzqt

So any recognition of the National Day of Remembrance for survivors of abuse in care has now been overshadowed by power plays, abuse and cover ups by another institution…

The woman who accused McSkimming is owed a public apology.

It’s not enough that the charge for her “harassment” of McSkimming has been withdrawn.

She endured NINE YEARS of gaslighting by Police - yet her complaints also led to the discovery that he had objectionable material on his work devices.
