Drilled was asked to promote a new pro-nuclear book. When we found it contained a conspiracy alleging the oil industry funded environmental groups to kill the nuclear industry -- and that it didn't stack up -- it turned into an investigation.

New from me in @drilledmedia.bsky.social:
Isabella Boemeke Isn’t Trying to Spread Conspiracy Theories in her New Pro-Nuclear Book, But She Is
Pro-nuclear influencer Isabelle Boemeke’s new book, Rad Future, indulges in conspiracy theories, unsourced claims, and personal attacks against the industry’s critics.

This isn't jargon but it's a major thing of mine in case any media read this:

Stop asking workers how we feel. You never ask politicians how they feel. You never ask bosses how they feel. You ask them what they think. It's a much different question and will spur a unique response.

The entire process is such a push against mask discipline. Take it off for security, grab a drink in duty free, have a bite to eat in-flight...

I'd just like to keep my health. Please.

This isn’t actually going to happen and scientific American knows that

Stop supporting media outlets that run ads pretending to be articles

Extremely funny that my neighbourhood can't get a grocery store, but we can pay some dingus to tink away at a concrete block all day.

It's rare that an interviewer connects with one's work the way Adam Lowenstein does here with my new book. Huge thanks to Adam and to @amywestervelt.bsky.social

Yes, we talk about despair. That's where it starts, but not where it ends.

Important to note that this isn’t a problem for the billionaire buying media properties. If they make them into successful rightwing propaganda? Cool more money. If it fails? Cool they’ve destroyed one of the few outlets with the resources to investigate them. Either way they achieved their goal

Especially if you get on stage and ADMIT that the spectacle of cruelty is the point

No you white man and major network that basically detonated diversity

Should not turn this into a tea discussion to not implicate your base and decontextualize it

Go ahead and make your little fun itch.io game, because 20 years from now a bunch of people will be like "Oh fuck I remember playing Zelda and the Lampshade of No Real Significance" it was so good"

Was playing old flash games, and this joke in particular aged extremely well

This game came out 20 years ago
Heihachi: "I just want to die! Namco just won't kill me off...I'm dug my own grave, with flowers and a vase and everything..."

Game is "The Legend of Zelda and the Lampshare of No Real Significane", released 2005

You're telling me your phone didn't have a little notebook of your most needed numbers by it, and a Heckin Chonker of a phone book right under it?

I barely had to remember more than like 5 phone numbers.

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?
2? Questions
I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

I really can't overstate just how little use I've gotten out of my PS5. The thing's done more for my apartment's dust cultures than it has for me.

is that why you kicked second thought out?

Like, I can't overstate that even the primary sources about the discovery of Vínland say that Leifur the Lucky was just chilling when some of his workers reported to him about what we now call northern Canada.

They also made two landings before settling at Vínland, because it's cold rock up there.

IIRC North America was discovered around 10,000 BCE, by a bunch of Siberians who walked on...was it a land bridge or iced-over ocean?

The second culture to discover the Americas was aboriginal sailors.

And I think third was some guys fishing for a wintering Leifur Eiríksson.

I looked up "oekaki", seems that's a bad idea. Looked up "aseprite", and at least Reddit has some suggestions? I don't know other limited art progrums, sorry.

Don't make me tap the Robert Pattinson quote, Leto.
“I always say about people who do method acting, you only ever see people do the method when they’re playing an assholes,” Pattinson said in an interiew with Variety in November. “You never see someone being lovely to everyone while they’re really deep in character.”
