Expressing ideas is a skill, it has value and worth, and it the first step in showing you can lead a crew to a unified vision, that you are capable of all the technical and soft skills that come with leading. Expressing an idea is THEEE entry level

This is precisely how fascism works, by grabbing at and taking away a little more freedom whenever events lend themselves to it. Bit by bit you lose your rights, until you turn around and realize the road you're on has been long, and democracy is well behind you over the horizon.

Fitting for a guy who launched his political career by saying Barack Obama's birth certificate was fake 🤷‍♂️
“They’re denying that any of her birth certificates, which are from Laurel, Maryland, her records of immunization, medical records — they’re denying the authenticity of them. It is something I’ve never encountered.” www.huffpost.com/entry/us-cit...

I've done tons of technical illustrations for scientists and engineers and if they're too proud to bust out a napkin or dry erase, they'll diagram it out in PowerPoint. It's just faster than explaining it.

Artists love doing redraws and if your foundational idea is good they'll elevate it.

This is the same in toy design too. Most of the jobs I get are ‘here’s a mood board, give us 4-6 concepts… okay we like that one, give us 3-4 costumes/looks/colour variations..’
THIS IS THE FUN PART, anyone who thinks it’s tedious is no creator.
"but we need to iterate on a bunch of ideas so our artists need to-"

concept artists have been iterating on ideas for decades, they're trained to do it efficiently

if you as a company want to sacrifice quality for quantity then that's on you, and it WILL show in the product, it WILL look sloppy

YUP. My favorite HistoryTuber is Stefan Milo, partially because I totally relate to his layperson, gosh-wow approach to ancient history, and partly because of how often he hires Ettore Mazza to make his INCREDIBLE thumbnails/graphics.

So the reader element on my hard drive needs to be replaced, which costs about $250 for the parts, and the labor will cost $800. I don't really have anything on it worth $1k, but I just really want to get that old data.

Co-signed. AI is the worst thing to ever happen to HistoryTube; even as much as an AI-generated thumbnail or narrator and I'm muting your channel. You have a fucking duty to relate the truth of history as best as you're able, and if you're using ehn-good-enough AI to do it, I don't want hear it.
One of the WORST things you could get AI to do for you would be anything historical. Even just with google, never mind AI, a lot of what the internet has on offer is inaccurate, incomplete, or nonexistent. You need a human who knows where to look to get and synthesize the good stuff.

This is the paradox: the "AI" bubble is based on hype. It's not about creating useful things. It's about hype to inflate stock.

If the public resists the hype, then line does not go up.

So they hype harder and harder, repelling most people with their hard sell tactics.

It's a downward spiral.
We can do even more.
