Was wondering how common this is- Christmas was always more of a kind of cocktail party thing in my family too- lots of snacks and hors d’ouevres and people could amble around and mingle.
Although that was usually Christmas Eve, w Christmas morning being a big brunch/breakfast type thing

it fascinates me how most everyone in the U.S. does turkey for Thanksgiving, but we are all over the map as to what we eat for Christmas (as is proper for a hugely diverse nation).
