I just don’t know if the 3-3-5 can work in the B1G. 6 in the box as your “base” is just too light for this conference unless you’ve got a Polar Bear-Ty combo up front, and we definitely do not this year. It’ll be interesting to see if Butler gets another year or if Rhule makes a change.
i know some of it is personnel, but also i am beginning to believe that john butler simply is not it. the adjustments he made to try to be better against the run hurt the excellent pass defense and then also didn't stop the run.
i maintain that this team has seen genuine improvement this year over last year's team, especially with a freshman qb in his second game on the road after being tossed in midseason but this constant shitting down their leg in road games with any stakes at all is the one thing that remains truly bad
