The Worst Hard Time is a book I’ve read three times now and still find myself captivated as I do. Unimaginable courage matched only by unlimited stupidity and hubris. It’s as much a theological treatise as it is an account of the Dust Bowl.

What perfect album came out the year you turned 16?
My beloved shares her birthday with the shipwreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. I’d heard good things about this new book & I can say it’s a really good read. Bacon shares much about the crew, their families, & how the loss of the Fitz changed Great Lakes shipping for the better. Highly recommended!

Three years ago this June, our family went on a Camino pilgrimage along the Portuguese Way: Porto to Santiago de Compostela. We had many wonderful meals in cities, towns, and wayside shops along our path. Can’t imagine I’ll have the opportunity to visit again, so these are all memories today.

SciFi has a ton of these 1 /done show - another one I considered was “Dark Matter”
