Way too many people in the US will do everything possible to find scapegoats for their rage and punch down at them rather than blame the people in charge and the larger system for what's happening.

Super fun things about being trans masc and not being able to afford medical care:

- still get full dose of misogyny from society

- but now get told you're a man so you suck

- but you're not actually a man bc no HRT or surgery so just a confused woman: extra misogyny

- fits in literally nowhere

We all deserve the right to be negative as we fucking want when living in a country actively trying to kill us.
gaymerherb.bsky.social
"no negativity" has become a very blatant dog whistle for "let's not face reality" and that shit is wacky af in 2025.
how the hell will you help anyone if you can't even talk about "tough topics"?
it's some coward shit.
get real + get organizing with folks who can handle a lil discomfort like now.
givememorelegs.bsky.social
Forcing dogs to work for the police is animal abuse, it should be more widely seen as animal abuse and treated as animal abuse instead of "aww look at the doggy in uniform".

You don't have to engage in jack shit "shenanigans" for a cop to brutalize you for the damn fun of it. Especially if black, brown, trans, disabled.
givememorelegs.bsky.social
Police will directly target those they see as vulnerable, the police are not gentle. They will pile on faked charges, they will brutalize and disable people, obviously sometimes kill people. People participating in any kind of action should weigh their risks and determine how to best partake.
givememorelegs.bsky.social
People who organize that kind of stuff will say themselves it isn't safe for everyone to be a part of every kind of action. Especially if people are more likely to be directly targeted or further harmed by the police.
Like parents, undocumented people, disabled people.
It's okay to weigh the risks.

I wish tattoos weren't expensive lol (Though the artists deserve all the money)
They are relaxing to get, but if my choice is between tattoos or giving someone money so they can eat or pay rent, I'm choosing the second option.

Let's be real this government wants disabled people dead and that includes disabled children.
givememorelegs.bsky.social
People expect the way my autism impacts me to be much less significant than it really is just because I can express my thoughts well in words.
I'm pretty significantly disabled really.
Sure I'm a wheelchair user but day to day it's probably my mental disabilities that impact me more.

This is not my experience as a trans person, which is why you shouldn't assume our experiences are all the same. I think I was supposed to be born male but I was treated like a female for so long that I have a unique perspective that I don't think other people understand.

All experiences are valid.

I'm a man, I've always been a guy, I don't know what it's like to be a woman or a girl.

I do know what it's like to be treated by others as if I were a woman or a girl.

They are different knowledges.
Over all I'm a pretty typical guy.
givememorelegs.bsky.social
Yep! There's lots of ways for our experiences to be.
Which is why cis people should avoid just tokenizing the narratives that confirm their pre-conceived ideas of what our lives should look like.

Sadly it's pushed by professionals constantly, many parents are actively pressured into it, told shit like "Your kids will never progress if you don't get them in ABA". Not uncommon for parents to be given a brochure for ABA upon diagnosis.
They've been actively misinformed.

As an autistic person, disruption of routine is one of the main things that makes us most distressed, so imagine just being snatched from your family like this. It would be distressing for anyone, but ESPECIALLY for a young autistic person.

A mom in Houston reported her 15-year-old son with autism missing. She spent 6 days terrified, searching for him. The whole time, Houston police knew exactly where he was since they helped ICE place him in a refugee facility.

This is beyond cruel.

It’s Indigenous People’s Day in an hour, and I feel less safe than ever before, not only from multiple unmet needs but also lack of physical safety as ICE and the military occupy my city, yet I’m stuck here again due to lack of resources, so even if I had the spoons to pack & evac I can’t. 😢💔

This line that removing statues means destroying our denying history is so, SO transparently wrong and silly. It makes me cringe that people still trot it out.

Monuments to historical figures (with very few exceptions) *celebrate* them. They don't *record* them.

'I don’t think it’s ever a good idea to deny history. I think it’s always really important to face your own history honestly ...'

Toppling statues is an act of protest. It's about contesting a collective memory. NEVER about denying history.

No, the risks are real we just don't have that severely of an impacted lifespan as a result- especially after reaching adulthood when the risk of accidental injury deaths like drowning significantly decrease. You can struggle a lot without dying. Over projecting the risks is also dangerous.

Some good news: Most people don't trust Trump and RFK Jr.'s claims about autism.
Just four percent of respondents told a KFF poll they believed the claim was definitely true, while 30 percent said it was probably false and 35 percent said it was definitely false

Most of the world doesn't routinely circumcise children, as it's not medically necessary and poses some risks. The rest of the world still has autism.
