This is the best creepy Halloween song and @thecurrent.org plays it every year to my utter delight.

I have memories of sitting next to a little record player at my friend Corrine’s house and us playing this over and over and over again.

It's definitely a perfect song for Halloween!

This is Clio. She did not study for the test today. Also does not know how to read. 12/10 (IG: paspastotoro)
Husband has been impatiently waiting for replacement parts to his table saw to get it ready to give to our nephew. The package arrived today and he was so excited it finally arrived he said “it’s just like Xmas!” with a little kid grin. LOL
That’s a travesty. That’s one of my absolute favorite songs! I hope you immediately played it for them and forced them to listen.
That style has been around for a while, but not sure when it actually started.
There were 2 other tributes I’m aware of - here’s another Gilbert, and Julie Blaha did some amazing flowers that were made from onion skins, and also rhubarb and corn fibers made into cordage! I can’t find a photo of those unfortunately.
Anne Boleyn is by Wendy Brozic

MN State Fair crop art 2025 thread:

1. This year, the Minneapolis Institute of Art sponsored two prizes, so there were lots of entries inspired by fine art. These are the two winners:

#cropart #seedart #mnstatefair
Yay! So glad you loved it!
Yes, that’s me! I was chuckling to myself the whole time I was making it!
I liked it, but probably wouldn’t get it again. It would be more shareable in a dish, but I’m assuming they wanted to push the “look! It’s beer in a cone!” visual.

Minnesota State Fair people: Crop Art has a line. Follow the rules. Don't be a jerk. And if you make our amazing crop art supervisor cry, you should probably be kicked out of the fair.
One of the best things about the #mnstatefair (other than #CropArt obs) are the shirts that people wear to the fair. This guy has probably waited all year to wear his excel spreadsheet shirt! Even the font name is awesome: Geeksoutfit. LOL

A group of 6 LCC K9 comfort dogs arrived in Minneapolis yesterday in the wake of the latest mass shooting. The organization deploys comfort dogs following tragic events. The dogs wore their "please pet me vests," offering love and comfort to those processing this heartbreaking tragedy. 15/10 for all
I love this more every time I see it.
The Creative Activities building had a pretty big update this year. They moved a bunch of vendors out of the annex and I was wondering where Larry the guy who sells Swiss Peelers every year ended up. Found him in the Merchandise Mart building! Glad to see he’s still around. He’s a legend!

I’m actually still chuckling about “gopher-themed”. It makes me think you can have a “gopher-themed” bedroom or something. LOL.

Doesn’t everyone know about Fairchild and Fairborne? Maybe they aren’t Minnesotan so that’s why?
Me either! I can see it now that they mentioned it, but had no idea before.

Here’s some of my favorite crop art from this year’s Minnesota State Fair
I saw that! Super excited for you!!
Marta isn’t on bluesky. They did the slow and fast lanes many years ago in 2019. It didn’t work super well. This year there are a couple of people helping people with the lines and moving them along. From my perspective doing crop art demos, it seemed to be working well so far this time.
