there are some songs which feel so much like traditionals that it's a little alarming when you find out someone wrote them in the 20th century. Long Black Veil was written in 1959!

I guess my closest example of this is that "Night of the Johnstown Flood" is not a real song, it's just a detail that Springsteen invented.

The Clarence Thomas vote took place the next day; the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history to that point took place the day after that. The Soviet Union was also in mid-collapse. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luby%27...

D’Angelo’s catalog is filled with classic songs but one of my favorites that doesn’t get talked about much is his scorching cover of Prince’s “She’s Always in My Hair” for the SCREAM 2 soundtrack; a choice needle drop for the opening scene.

It was basically a Battle of Winterfell situation - there was an entire battalion of people dressed in Winne the Pooh costumes. The staging points were two massive stages miles apart, like at a music festival.

The Portland costumed protests have messed with my brain to the point where I had an extended dream where a big battle of good and evil, e.g. The Stand, was being fought in the fields of Woodbury and I had to do hand to hand combat with a guy dressed as Tim Allen in The Santa Clause.

That insanity goes down officially as a grounded into double play, making it the only batted ball hit over 350 feet for a GIDP in the pitch tracking era (reg. + postseason).

Max Muncy grounded into a 404-foot double play.

Yahoo credits it as Muncy grounding into a double play and they're absolutely right
