I'm Romani.

My family came here ~1911 fleeing this kind of sh*t.

The dream of a place that would finally be safe for us didn't even last til the third generation born here.

Imagine how different the planet would be today if Republicans and their Supreme Court hadn’t stolen the 2000 election from then Clinton VP and “global warming” activist Al Gore.

Current Supreme Court Justices Roberts, Barrett and Kavanaugh were ALL lawyers for Bush during the 2000 FL recount. ⚖️ 🇺🇸

The accuracy of this is breathtaking.

This is ✨exactly✨ how white people treat their fellow customers who happen to be Black.

And please, please don’t chime in, swearing you never have; y’all do this without even knowing it. Trust.

Actual culprits are billionaires.

They shouldn't exist.
We wrap our affordability series with a look at the hidden economic culprits of the cost of living crisis: middlemen. They sit in between transactions and take their profit, raising costs for everyone else. And their interventions can even turn deadly. @whitneycwimbish.bsky.social reports:
Meet the Connectors - The American Prospect
Middlemen, our economy’s most shadowy characters, sit in between buyers and sellers and get rich in the process. It can even be a matter of life or death.

Please check in on the people you care about. Cannot stress this enough, as our nation continues to descend into fascism, and particularly as mental health and other health and social services continue to be eliminated under Project 2025.

Please prioritize this.

Many of these movies are out of circulation.

There was a robust movie industry for Black stories during the 1920’s-1950’s.

The movies weren’t shown in whites only theaters and many were banned from majority white cities.

But they existed & explored real world issues in our communities.

White America doesn’t have the collectivity to effectively “boycott” a political decision.

Sad thing is, it would only take 3% or so of white Americans, 7 million or so, to bring about change.
Good day for a boycott.

Give the parks a rest.

Those fingerling potatoes hit my neurodivergence just right, too.
I maintain, early 2000s Boston Market was unmatched.

The bird was done right and the mac, fingerling potatoes, and creamed spinach were on point.

I think about this exchange whenever a white person exclaims that we both have the last name Perkins. This happens relatively often.

Sh*t. I ain't even rap without using my diaphragm.
Hardly any of the new singers use their diaphragm and it speaks directly to how the lack of influence from the church has caused a decline in musical prowess.
SZA sounds like she sings with her mouth closed. Summer sounds like Fischer Price my first chorus class. Most of the men are nasally/whiny. If their voices are nice the songs are boring or poorly produced.

Occasionally I’ll find things I like but the vast majority is a no thank you.

The biggest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing white people all racism must be intentional—when, in reality, most of it is not.

THAT part.
White people truly believe they could NOT have just said or done something racist, because they did not INTEND the KKK-level horrors they think define all “racism.”

They put “racism” in the same mental category as criminal acts. Most racism is much more covert—way less “hateful” and more systemic.

Non-white ppl who experience racism, use the term as an adjective.

“That was racist.”
“That Karen was racist.”

White ppl use “racist” as a noun:
“I’m not a racist! I have a Black husband!”
“Trump’s a racist!”

It’s a distancing mechanism for terms they view pejoratively: “illegals,” “Blacks,” etc.
Agree. I notice white people think of racism as some indelible trait. In this conception racist is something you are, vs. racism is something you do. I think this is a reason why we fail to acknowledge the racism we are already doing or benefiting from, for fear of a Mark on Our Permanent Record.
