Lol, Zillow tried to rate the climate risks facing individual properties. The real estate industry *hated* it, precisely because it worked -- it made selling risky properties more difficult. So they rebelled & Zillow caved.

#DataCenters pose a variety of climate and environmental problems, including their impact on the water supply. The volume of water needed to cool the servers in data centers has become a nationwide water resource issue particularly in areas facing water scarcity across the West.

Front and Centered climate justice mgr Cameron Steinback said it's key for #datacenters to publish annual sustainability reports: “They need to track & regularly report publicly how much water they’re using, how much electricity they’re using & how long or how frequently they’re running generators.”
Data Center Workgroup convened by WA Gov Ferguson set to release recommendations on industry's future on Dec. 1, Columbia Insight has gotten ahead of the story, exclusively reporting that the group will not recommend measures to require use of carbon-free energy.
