👋🏽 i’m Julia, a poet / digital artist / product designer from atlanna

i draw / write what i dream about, am sentimental about, and what inspires me historically and looking forward.

i travel for tattoos, read too many books at the same time, and love Black women always 💙🎱
i’m not rooting for alabama (of course), but watching ryan williams hit that misty copeland is definitely entertaining 🩰🌪️

i’ve been drawing since i was a kid.. as an adult, i’ve always doodled with my niece and nephews.. little comics on sticky notes, jokes in notebooks, my nephew expressed himself on the walls (oops)

now they’re drawing and sharing their own art with me and i’m so impressed i cried a little 🥹

many of this country’s oldest and foundational institutions (banking and insurance specifically) used enslaved people as collateral for loans.. wells fargo, bank of america, jp morgan chase, aetna, ny life, etc..

racism and patriarchy are the legs required for capitalism to walk - always have been.
This is why people who insist that capitalism/profit motive will ultimately trump racism are unfortunately and demonstrably incorrect

We’ve had endless examples of how much money there is to be made, and yet they consistently do this
I still can't believe Sony sold K-Pop Demon Hunters to Netflix thinking it would be a flop, but are betting that basketball movie with a goat is going to be a huge hit in cinemas.

NEW:

In 2024, Tierra Walker was sick and getting sicker. She was also pregnant.

She knew abortion was illegal in Texas, but thought there was an exception for women like her, whose health was at risk. Doctors told her there was no emergency.

Then she died.
