The story below is one of many unfortunately ☹️. The company I run R&D for has lab space at a startup incubator adjacent and on the MIT envelope. Things have become that bad the landlord has reduced what we pay for my R&D teams benches and office space as have other similar comercial organizations.

My annual Christmas trivia: Frank Capra was a Caltech graduate and lifelong science guy who told a biographer that had he not gone into film, he might have wanted to be an astronomer. When Capra was Academy president in 1937, he invited Edwin and Grace Hubble to be special guests at the Oscars.

I'm a dual citizen like lots of my friends and colleagues. My kids are also automatically dual US/UK citizens as they were born after July 1st 2006 per UK law, like I'm sure many thousands of kids with a British parent living in the US.

It's with heavy hearts that we share that Claude, our beloved albino alligator, has passed away at the age of 30. Claude brought joy to millions of people at the Academy and across the world during his 17 year tenure. We will miss him dearly. 🤍
