Rewatching Dune with my wife
Ziggurat shaped buildings
Steep stepped towers
Ey say its this deep space future world but the buildings still look Sumerian
I think that oppressors wreck worlds
Then in the mirror they seek remake those worlds
A sense of envy seeping in every essense of their malice

On days like TDOR I grieve for Trans comrades murdered by the fash and the non-state fash, but I also grieve the Trans communities that have abandoned me and enabled abusers by doing so.

I grieve the way we could be holding each other in community and aren't.

A solemn TDOR to my trans siblings — your memory is eternal. I held my wife tonight, eir hands, eir heart. I promised em my memory of them will burn an eternal inferno no matter where we are, how we are in life as long as I'm alive I will remember and love em. That is what we all do for each other.
I write
to metabolize grief
a meal I never seem able to finish
for food keeps being piled onto the table
seemingly endlessly
I look upon this tiresome feast
with bleary eyes and a sore mouth
breaking apart at the seams of my being
always thinking the last bite will see me done
as I take the next
TDOR fast approaches & I find myself thinking, dreaming solemnly

I dream solemnly
of a day of rememberance
for me and my kin
true to its name
The painful incidents long past
still tender
not wounds open anew
each time a sibling falls
Fresh blood
Grief gashing
Lost lines
I dream of revenge

This is the day we remember a hell of a lot more of us should be alive. Do not forgive. Do not forget.

One of my favorite animes 'Planetes' by Makoto Yukimura actually tackles this topic really well 🌌👨🏽‍🚀 Its about a space debree collection crew in the year 2075

Sidenote: Ai Tanabe is one of the autistic genderqueer representations that has made me feel more seen. Relatable af

I really believe that linux's issue is that it's seen as intimidating for less computer savvy folks. Bringing it into households in the form for the GabeCube would normalize it and show people what a less policing service feels like.

More disabled actors playing disabled roles PLEASE

“I'm honored to be your ancestor & believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future.”

This is a hard loss. It's people like @sfdirewolf.bsky.social whose writing has shed a light of hope onto my bleak days and inspired my own writing.
Devastated to learn of Alice Wong's passing today. Her voice was a powerful one that helped build so much visibility and solidarity for Disabled folks.

May her memory and words and wisdom spark a thousand blessed revolutions!
I don’t want to formulate words yet, but my friend Alice Wong, @sfdirewolf.bsky.social of the Disability Visibility Project, has passed.

Here are the words she left behind:

I have returned to this quote periodically, as someone in a tumultuous courtship with both, to remind myself of the comfort of life and death.

This is most certainly going to be used for eugenics to screen people they view as genetically inferior from the US. It's also going to be used to target gender nonconforming people with expensive DNA tests.

If sex is so fundamental, why do they need a dystopian police state to enforce it?

New proposed DHS rule will potentially require DNA testing for immigrants to prove their sex assigned at birth.

Also, if you do write to incarcerated people, please don't disappear on them without a word. People on the inside have very little access to information & they worry about you when all of a sudden you stop writing. Don't ghost people who have already been abandoned.

Okay with all of my savings and donations across all of the platforms, I’m ready to talk purchase.

My budget is $3.5k now and an additional $2.5k for a total of $6k by the weekend before Thanksgiving. As things currently stand, part of this would be a loan. 🧵

So proud of my city. 👊❤️

(Albany Park is a diverse neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago.)

* Continuing to fight the "Chicago is a hellhole" narrative: I saw this because I biked a few miles to a lovely chocolate cafe on a gorgeous fall day where the leaves were starting to turn golden.

dead heads in the basket
brimming with the fire light
of a hundred petal kisses
I live some flowers behind
enchanted by the idea of spirits
dancing among the moon beam lit blooms of the garden
