I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

What he’s railing against is a profound shift in culture, status… He’s obsessed with the idea that America is controlled by a leftist “ruling elite” - but “elite” isn’t defined socio-economically or by political power, it means something like: Getting to define “real America” and who gets to belong.

I posted Jan's piece this morning on an energy forum and got feedback about the short term funding and goals offered by successive govts here. It doesn't seem like rocket science, unless I'm missing something.

No, it isn't. There is effectively one major nationwide project: retrofit/insulate the estate and install heat pumps, sometimes with a district element.

We need to build skills, products, and organisations that can make that happen.

Decide a standard. Decide a timetable. Calculate funding requirements. Plan for completion of the whole estate, then put in place legislation and funding tracks that will achieve it.

Probably best done alongside a planned, staged by region, shutdown of the gas grid, so people in the private sector can see their shiny new gas boiler option has X years till it definitely won't work.
