I’m working on building long-term organizing power across Missouri as ED of AmplifyMO Actions. In 2024—our first year—we helped county committees open 6 offices, hire staff & reach over 90,000 voters.

I'm looking for 1,000 sustaining donors to keep investing in democratic county committees.👇🏾

No one has done more to create soup kitchens and food pantries in the United States than Republicans and their upside-down economic policies and their practice of making it more advantageous for the wealthy, powerful and well-connected to donate to charity rather than pay their fair share of taxes.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

How many lies has Speaker Mike Johnson told on television in the last 9 days? Is anyone counting?

With all of these farm bankruptcies, one might think that farmers would never vote Republican again, but something tells me they’re gonna go through this experience and still vote for the fuckers that killed their livelihoods—proving that it was always about the racism, not the the economy.

In the second quarter, there were 93 bankruptcy filings, up from 88 in the first quarter and nearly double the 47 at the end of 2024.

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that all these data centers are going into communities that have been historically targeted for exploitation and have the least amount of civic power wielded by the people living there.

Everything they are doing & saying right now is very obviously meant to clear the way for mass repressive violence.

Fact checking is not going to do shit.

Talking about kitchen table issues is not going to do shit.

STOP calling ICE a criminal law enforcement agency, it is not.

ICE is empowered to arrest, detain, and deport individuals for civil immigration violations.

I cannot emphasize enough that this administration shouldn’t get 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘷𝘰𝘵𝘦 from the Dems until they start obeying the law.

Not. One.

Optics matter: if you want people to turn out next election despite troops in the streets, then show them it matters.

Anyone else shocked that the party of "protecting children" is putting naked children in the back of vans and taking them to undisclosed locations?

My god.

“Watson said she saw agents dragging residents, including kids, out of the building without any clothes on and into U-Haul vans. Kids were separated from their mothers…’It was heartbreaking to watch…seeing kids coming out buck naked and taken from their mothers, it was horrible.’”

The conversation between Klein and Coates showed me that a lot of people who screech about “infighting” on the left aren’t aware of the fact that marginalized people have been forced to learn how to regulate their emotions during conflict, and so, are better able to hear what’s actually being said.

Republicans hate Obamacare so much that they gutted premium support subsidies to give the mega-wealthy another tax break.

Now, they need Democratic votes to keep the government open.

But, instead of restoring healthcare cuts or coming to some compromise, they’re shitposting racist memes.
