I used to hack games, now I try to write about them! A very old gaming nerd from Mexico with plans to conquer the world! Or at least, write about DVD games. He/Him, SFW, furry as heck but also really weird.

When I was in school, my English teacher told me that I would never be a published author. Well, 25 years later, and after dozens of drafts, re-writes, and rejection letters from publishing houses, I'm happy to announce that that teacher has finally died.

Just a reminder that this is the waste of carbon that coined that most hideous of right-wing chants "Your body, my choice."

He proudly, actively hates women.

So GQ can fuck right off.

Man my cell internet is just not working in the US, it's one of those days I guess. I'm stealing WiFi from Starbucks right now, haha

I'm sorry, are these for kids or for grown men?
A picture of a shelf at a supermarket. The picture shows a line of body + face wash bottles with cartoony depictions of several animals.

I'm just like a large language model in that I've read everything on the internet and it's made me effectively useless

Also apparently some famicom models don't work nicely with a disk system??? the sprite graphics are all corrupted
I soldered a hand made register array on the disk system ram adapter's data line, looks very sketchy but that fixed the issue
Mario and 1-up mushroom, both look corrupted Dodgy looking soldering job with a hand made register array, soldered on the famicom disk system's cartridge slot's data line Health looking uncorrupted mario, about to eat a healthy looking mushroom

Still looking for someone, haven't found a single person so far (that I can contact). I have a 46-episode script that I need translated. This would be a paid job!

Completely unrelated to my 2am doomposting but does anyone know an English to Japanese translator, ideally with experience in screenplays?

Ripping CDs wasn’t introduced with the 360, it was a thing ever since the first Xbox. I have a funny story about that one, actually.

So back when the original Xbox was current, my dad’s workplace bought one and offered it as some sort of weekend rental thing. My dad, having video game loving kids, jumped on this opportunity and signed up first for the rental. So we got to play an Xbox for a weekend. However, the only game that came with the console was Rally Sport Challenge, a pretty ordinary car game that quickly got quite boring for us kids, especially since there only was one controller which meant no multiplayer. This meant that we quickly started exploring the options on the console, discovering the CD ripping feature and subsequently that the tracks on the drive would playback in the game. We intently tried to make the silliest music choice and loaded up an album of children’s music on the console, named it “[dad’s name]'s Bathtub Favorites” and laughed our asses off at the tonal clash. The highlight being the jolly tune “vi ska gå till Skansen!”, meaning “we’re going to Skansen!”, framing the racing as some form of bizarre frantic roadtrip to the Stockholm zoo Skansen.

Fast-forward a bit and the rental Xbox has now been hopping around several people’s homes over the weekends. All of a sudden my dad’s coworker from England tells him about a strange experience on the rental Xbox, recounting how the music in the included racing game seemingly did not fit the tone at all. In fact, it did sound vaguely like Swedish, but since he didn’t know the language well he wasn’t sure. His only assumption being something like “we ska go till Skansen?”.

I like to believe our little prank made Rally Sport Challenge a whole lot more enjoyable and amusing for everyone involved.

The kind my dad made, well, mom used it to make a sort of corn bread on the stove. She'd mix in the corn masa flour with the fat, then bake it on a grilling pan. Then she'd cut it up in half and fill it with things. You'd probably like it, it's like a crunchy salty porky pancake. :)

You need to go to an authentic carne asada one day.

(Sorry if this image bugs you, I hope you feeling gross about beef doesn't extend to silly meme photos like this)

Huh. My old man used to make something like cured pork fat, but we didn't eat it like that, it was always used as an ingredient in other foods, as a substitute for lard.

To be fair I wouldn't want to eat British beef either ;)

Not to say that the song was a masterpiece, but it was silly.

Now I just see that song show up on Youtube ads and immediately press back to shut it up.

Butcher Pete, which I only know thanks to Fallout 3. Revolting song.

Vampegeddon. Worst horror move I've ever seen.

Pretty much anything by Train. It's like they excel at making the lamest music possible.
