For good but cheap, a lot of folks swear by Thermalright's stuff. Haven't used them myself but I've heard decent things. If you want Excess there's always Noctua, though IMO the majority of users don't need that performance.

Which reminds me, I desperately need to get good N95s, but that's money that I don't have right now and haven't had for months.

I want to protect myself better but doing so is expensive, and is why we need the societal level changes so we aren't burdening everyone with an expense many can't afford.

Do I know for fact that COVID gave me a seizure disorder, or lowered the threshold to a degree I could hit any time without medications? No, I don't.

But I don't want others to find out by developing one themselves, nor do I want to find out if repeat infections over time make things worse.

I would be a helluva lot more comfortable in general knowing that others are doing whatever they can to help curtail spread by proxy of making sure they don't get it in the first place.

Because I don't want to fuck up my body more. Even if it's just another joint-dislocating seizure.

Hell, just getting the new shots could pose a seizure risk because the last time I got one, *two days later* I had a gnarly seizure. Despite being fairly well medicated at the time (we doubled doses after that).

The fucking *vaccine* may pose a threat. The thing that helps curb hospitalizations.

I do not know what else I can develop over time because I made the mistake of not protecting myself seriously. I'm possibly more at risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis than I already might be (thanks, mom, for those genes).

I don't know what repeat infections will do to me.

I was possibly already prone to a seizure disorder (or had one but the threshold was extremely difficult to hit) but after getting COVID a couple times, after my bout in May '23, I have a seizure disorder now.

Every seizure I've had has ended up in me injuring myself. Like, dislocating joints.

Ugh. yeah, thing I'm not looking forward to dealing with when I eventually replace my Moto. It's holding up alright but it definitely needs repairs & parts for this exact model are annoying to come by.

elk.zone is taking its sweet time to build the docker container but the lxc DOES only have two basic cpu cores and two gigs of ram + one gig of swap at its disposal. so it's going to be a long while.

eventually i'll have a front-end for my gts instance... and it might work fine with Hollo, too.

40-60C idle is def high, but unless continual extended loads push it beyond like, 85-90C your cooler is probably doing good enough.

No harm in getting a better cheap cooler though, IMO you don't need anything more than a basic good air cooler until you're getting into SFF or workstation territory.
