This is how administration acts whenever faculty tries to enforce standards. It's why most people have just given up and just hand out A's.
OU has put the professor here on administrative leave:

maybe my biggest beef with east coast liberals is their INSANE ignorance and frequently outright racism towards native americans

i like when the site moves from criticizing something to just kind of meditating on a phrase for a while
Cause she had a STRONG FLOOR… and you had your head all the way up to the no ceiling…

the "high/low floor, high/low ceiling" thing is a pretty common sports analogy, I don't know if it's a good or bad slogan and I don't trust the people pitching it but I don't think it's as impenetrable to understand as some people are trying to make it sound

every person complaining about the diacritics is an illiterate country bumpkin, in my opinion
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

doing this on a citibike is insane
The scene now at Lafayette and Howard, diagonal to the ICE garage which activists remain camped out in front of on both sides of the building.

I've been reading Pride and Prejudice. I'm very sorry I waited so long to read it! Austen has such a sharp wit and observes people so keenly, that it's impossible to read that without getting a little embarrassed at my own past behavior

Could people here be less miserable? Are there people I could follow who have anything interesting to say about the world besides that they don't like it?

The new Odd Lots said that 60% of people carry a balance on their credit cards?? My followers are probably like 90th percentile financially literate in the country

I'm hearing talk that there was an earthquake 4 hours ago, but I was in the Mission and didn't feel it at all?
I want to recreate the feeling of living in NY in San Francisco. What nearby communities can I pretend don't exist/don't matter

Burger jokes are played out, but it is probably the closest equivalent we have to like, bread prices in the 18th C
There isn't a single solitary reason a burger and fries should ever cost $20. I don't care what blend of meat, what cheese or bun.

Let's not rewrite history here (amateur historian here.)

Jefferson was not "obscenely" rich. He was wealthy yes, but John Hancock was the wealthiest Founder.

Jefferson kept his slaves to protect them. While married in the U.S, in Paris his slave Sally Hemmings was "the madam of the house."

There was a young man from Decatur,
Who slept with a LOX generator.
His balls and his prick
Froze solid read quick,
And his asshole a little bit later.
lol this image from last night shows SpaceX is popping open LOX tanks during routine pressure testing. The Starship program was being hyped as closing in on rapid commercial launch cadence 2-3 years ago

my laptop can almost run some of the new models, I think they'll get leaner and leaner. Eventually we'll move into Small Language Models where they're just like any domain-specific software your company uses
We've already seen AI driving people to psychosis, but man, what happens to these people if/when the bubble pops. Not just to the economy but also, just, to these people's brains, what happens If AI stops being available or just stops being cheap/free to use
