I'm pro protests in general, but it's definitely worth thinking about what affects you want to see achieved from it. Sometimes standing with a bunch of like minded folks and shouting can be enough -- I know it boosts my morale.

Maybe I don't understand the terminology, but all along the Chicago river are former multistory warehouses? My condo was a warehouse when it was originally built?

What a pleasure to see someone act to prevent the appearance of impropriety in doing their job in the federal government.

Bottom line: Perry says that clerk will no longer be working on this case, going forward.

Neither side made a motion based on this disclosure, but I didn't hear anyone rule it out, either.

Either way, hearing adjourned.

This is nicer than some Wisconsin bike lanes I've used, which are sometimes just a sign pointing to a foot of shoulder ending in gravel.

Also, if you watch any documentaries about the actual Chicago Nazis, they were weirdo freaks, basically equivalent of nick Fuentes fans. Their leader, Frank Collin, was eventually convicted of child molestation.

Starting October 15, six CTA buses will operate with Automated Bus Lane Enforcement systems as part of the City of Chicago’s Smart Streets pilot.
Automated bus lane, bus stop, and bike lane enforcement starts Wednesday, October 15th Keeping bus stops clear is essential to ensuring that transit is accessible to everyone especially people with disabilities. Bus lanes and bus stops are for buses. Bike lanes are for bikes.
Keeping them clear is essential to ensuring everyone in Chicago gets where they need to go, safely and on time. That's why we're launching automated bus lane, bus stop, and bike lane enforcement to improve rider safety and transit efficiency.

Their website talks about some of the changes, but doesn't mention the cement? www.colbyabbot.com/about-1

According to the building this is the Colby & Abbott building in Milwaukee on Mason Street. The facade is crazy -- cement. But it's covering brick -- you can see it in the upper corners. And the rest of the building is painted brick. What the heck?
A weird looking building with gravelly cement facade over brick. Plus a bay window pop out through the cement. And painted bricks on the side.

it's really more of a relay. Sometimes, you gotta hand the next leg to someone else entirely.

Can confirm. Spouse works in Cicero and she noted this morning how eerily uncongested Cermak was today. ICE is very intentionally destroying the livelihoods of Latino/a communities.
sorenspicknall.bsky.social
To a somewhat lesser extent, the same is true of several other areas. Cicero has seen heavy ICE activity similar to Sunday in Rogers Park about twice a week lately. Same for the southeast side, same for southwest suburbs like Burbank and Bridgeview, same for Hammond and Whiting across the border.
