Sometimes I remember worrying that I was embarrassing when I started sharing my fanart. I fell so hard & so fast for our pirates. Then a pro comic artist I really look up to just out of the blue told me my OFMD stuff was "beautiful work". It was like he knew I needed to hear it right at that moment.

2 years ago, I had the best Not-Date. @gentlemanpierat.bsky.social planned a whole day in NYC to show me SMAU landmarks, shops and food he KNEW I'd love. It was so thoughtful, so FUN. HE smuggled CHAMPANGE into brunch! Happy NOT-A-DATE-iversary, Sam. You swept me off my impractically-heeled feet.

October 13th was a Friday, and I was literally wearing The Cursed Suit when I met @gentlemanpierat.bsky.social for the first time in person.

Luckiest day of my life.

@florencesherman.bsky.social and I met in person for the first time. Here we are just a few hours later singing The Chain at NYCC pirate karaoke. Instant co-captain connection, even if it took us another year or so to figure that out. 😅
Still one of my favorite photos of us ever. ❤️
