Repealing Section 230 would chill free speech by allowing platforms, not users, to be held responsible for what its users say. Platforms will become much more censorious over what its users can post. This is extremely bad
They're trying to rush it. Call your reps, don't let them
Sen. WHITEHOUSE: We finally are moving to file a bipartisan Section 230 repeal bill. Waiting any longer serves no useful purpose.

You would think that the color pink is an encroaching colony of fungi the way it’s steadily and surely creeping over every inch of my wardrobe, room, and life

We are regularly going to arrive at this tension point in the coming months/years and I think it’s kind of imperative we learn to punch up if we’re going to survive this
not sure how to square ‘no one person can be reasonably expected to pay for every media subscription’ with ‘sorely underpaid writers need to make a living’ but my inclination is not to locate that problem with any of the broke ass people on either end of the complaint

I don’t think people with salaried jobs have any fucking clue what people who offer ~luxury~ services are experiencing

hairdressers, therapists, tattoo artists, piercers, nail technicians, masseuses, bartenders, waitstaff, house cleaners, & yes sex workers are being absolutely ratfucked rn

Something that I think people just coming to polyamory need to be told more often is that not everything is an internal issue that you need to just journal about. Sometimes your partner, your meta, or both, are actually just being shitty to you

My old circus instructor told us that emotion is stored not in the shoulders and neck but the hips, and that hip opening stretches can be a major mental release. And…can confirm. Do your stretches, it’s beneficial on so many levels

sex workers have long been OGs in mutual aid & community care so this is not at all surprising

It’s probably fine that the subreddits of the industries I work in *and* the industry I want to go into are full of people basically saying “don’t pivot to this line of work, none of us can find jobs/business is down”, right?

Nothing like the camaraderie and ingenuity formed on a movie set for a film set in the summertime, during the coldest winter the Bay has seen in a century. Hand warmers were put in places I didn’t even know they could go

The entirety of the BART stations in SF are covered in Meta Ray-Ban ads which is psychic damage in and of itself, but my true heartbreak comes from the fact that not one of them is defaced

Thinking about the time I had a ketamine orgy with a few roommates and one of them jumped up and started live DJ’ing it

On the one hand, completely compartmentalizing feelings is unsustainable and ultimately harmful. On the other hand, in an environment when almost everyone’s in an activated state, venting can lead to a negative feedback loop that’s harmful for everyone involved. So what’s the balance?

the thing about online queer discourse is unless you dig into things it's hard to tell if someone is speaking from a place of nuance and decades of lived experience or whether you're reading the untested absolutes of the most 15-year-old alive

Important to note: PREA is still law. This does not nullify that. Nevertheless this is fucking sickening

I'm really excited for it, it seems like it'll be an extremely cool time! Would love to see you there <3

I understand having a low personal threshold for certain types of content. The problem comes when you universalize your inner issues onto everyone else and onto art in general. Art does not have to make you feel good and in fact feeling discomfort is, sometimes, the point

Camera fun to play with :3
y'all @femmeandfauna.bsky.social shot their first roll of film and they *nailed* most of their exposures with a Nikon F that had no built in meter. I taught them how to meter with their phone and they picked it up perfectly??? I'm so proud of them!

This “too many kids are disabled” thing is hilarious when I think about how many parents of people in my sphere basically did everything they could to not get their kids labeled as “disabled”. Like, actively refusing to get diagnoses or utilize IEPs because neurodiversity was something you outgrew
Even by the standards of The Atlantic, this is an extraordinarily weak evidence base for an article.

Data from a tiny handful of schools that isn't measuring the variable at issue and a few thin, secondhand anecdotes.
