On my 1 year anniversary in the Senate, I reflect on what it means to be both a caregiver and a United States Senator.

As I begin my own personal caregiving journey, I promise to fight for the care this country deserves, as I would for my own loved ones.

Poor Tillie. But one can’t help but wonder whether Eva Harfield was unfairly targeted, or got away with murder!

1. BREAKING

A coup is underway in the West African nation of Benin.

A group of soldiers appeared on state television and declared the dissolution of the government, the removal of President Patrice Talon (an ally of the United States), and the dismantling of state institutions.

Brave thread.
I’m actually terrified to do this, but here goes.

One request. You do not comment until you read the entire thread. And you are respectful when you do. If not I will either restrict you or block you depending on how hateful you are.

Great, glad we’re on the same page, let’s begin.

Reminder that republicans invented the term “identity politics” because they believe when they identify as white that’s not an identity, it’s the the standard human condition, along with male, straight, Christian, etc.
Been saying this for a year now. After SFFA, the @nytimes ran a story about universities working overtime to recruit men--many of whom had less glittering credentials than women applicants. Wesleyan literally created a football team to recruit more men. We ladies are ready for the meritocracy.

Thanks so much @daytonian.bsky.social! The Whitby is near and dear to our hearts. So many colorful characters. And I had no idea about the Grover Cleveland Alexander, Mae West, and Russian royalty connections! A whole lot of fun and memories.

I find it kind of funny that "new media" companies of different generations keep buying Warner Brothers. First AOL managed to use their soon-to-be worthless shares to buy Time Warner, now it's umpteen years later it's Netflix's turn (not suggesting that Netflix=AOL, but still).
When you step away from your phone for a second and Netflix buys WB and the college buddy group chat starts panicking about the future of the DC Universe.
