We’ve got a good start to winter with snow on the ground and a cold forecast to start December. We need a little more for sleds, which may come over the next few days. Hunting season ends this weekend and we’ll be doing trail prep in between hunting hours. Fingers crossed for a good snow season!

This is my Denali's littermate sister as well as Willow and Atlas's mom. Absolutely crushed that she's lost.
Mia has been missing from Jaye since Friday 11/28/25. She took off through an open gate. She was seen at a neighbor's later that day but has not been seen since. #uglydogs if you know anyone in the Ester/Fairbanks area or farther please have them keep their eyes peeled.. my heart is breaking.

Working on making Kuiper a lead dog. He’s got potential, but I think he gets a bit bored on our repetitive home trail. Hopefully we get enough snow for sleds soon, as that opens up more trail access for us.

I had a quiet holiday with the animals while Sheridan visits with his family in PA. Thankful for a safe, cozy home, good friends and family (who I’ll see over the coming weeks), good health and the ability to do what we love out here.

Ruby is getting, um, quite large. She might weigh as much as Faye by the time she hits *4* months. Though to be fair, Faye is a peanut.

So this is kinda neat—we're currently ranked 4th in the 6-dog all breed class for ISDRA. Granted, this is mostly because we've attended two sanctioned events vs just one, but still fun to see. 😎

That’s a wrap for North East ‘25! We were a bit slower day 2 (crazy wind and wetter trail), but still bumped up a few spots for a respectable 6th place out of 12 finishing teams. Not bad for yanking around a heavy Fritz rig. We’re behind the speedy hounds but right up there with the best Sibe teams!

Day one at North East is a wrap! Just need to get a hotel (instead of camping) and ponchos to ensure good weather!

The thing is, I am doing everything in my power to go unconscious when I’m crammed in a prison of human bodies stuffed inside a metal sky tube. Airline travel these days is fucking miserable and I’m gonna wear yoga pants and a hoodie over my face.

I was chuckling at that post saying we should be prepared for people we "admire" to be in the Epstein Files because it's definitely a you problem if you think politicians and money grubbing rich people and Silicon Valley creeps are worthy of admiration in the first place.
Dems are far from perfect but it was nice when the government wasn't actively trying to kill us.
The moment when 30 million American's received healthcare (2010) The moment when insurance companies had to start covering preexisting conditions, young adults could stay on their family's policy and I could trust that the small print couldn't screw me if I needed serious medical assistance. 🇺🇸

I quit the former Twitter two years ago this week, and I am here to tell you that my online life got a lot better for having left it. In two years I've not been tempted to go back, and I haven't felt any penalty in either career or community for not being there. It's nice to be here and not there.

Took Faye to the vet yesterday to get her stubborn swollen paw pad checked out. Vet didn’t seem overly concerned, but also didn’t have any solutions besides continuing topical treatments. She’s not limping or otherwise bothered by it, so I guess we’ll see how it looks in another week or two.
