The snow is already mostly melted and the trails are swampy, so I’m gonna give the whole team a few days off. We’ve got the North East dryland challenge on November 22-23 to recover for!

Maybe jinxed us by saying how good the team was looking. We’ve been training very consistently & have some paw pad injuries. Sagan’s seems to be resolved after a day of rest and foot cream. Faye’s is a bit more stubborn, so she’s been getting Epsom salt foot soaks and a round of meds.

Bracing for all the beautiful northern lights photos when we got… clouds for days.

Snow has returned.

Mileage bump with lots of breaks along the way. Aiming for a week or two of 5-6 milers at home, then heading to the state forest for a 7 mile loop, and eventually the 10 mile lollipop trail out there.

A lot of sources are saying this winter will be much like last year's (which was... a lot).

And it seems like we're about to get started.

I don’t want to jinx it, but the team is looking good going into November. Having the loop in the woods (with a big downhill/uphill climb) really makes a noticeable difference in their strength and endurance as we add miles.

Yep! He’s been training up with the race team, no issues so far this season. Just need to up his food intake because he’s a real string bean!

We are chugging along, slowly increasing our miles and building up muscle. There’s a race near Buffalo this weekend, but temps look iffy. There’s another dryland race in PA later this month, then we’re waiting for snow. Already booked us in 6-dog open for Kearney in Feb!

Peak fall is coming to an end. I see snow flurries in the extended forecast. Cold is coming.

Increasing our miles a little bit at a time. Still felt pretty warm out there today, though it was only 40°F. Another run this week then off to NH for the North Country Musher campout.

New collar for Ruby! She’s 23.6 pounds at 11 weeks old.

This year's foliage was a bit drab with the drought, but we still got in our annual team portraits!

Ruby reminds me so much of baby Denali. They’re related, so that checks out. I hope she’s as great a leader!

Zooming around some of the tree piles the loggers left behind last season. Our neighbor is pretty upset with how they left things back here, but thankfully, our trail is still runnable.
