Middle-aged genderfluid retro gaming millennial socialist failslime. Very friendly if you don't say any of my activation phrases. Still friendly if you do but I will be thinking very impolite things about you.

You don't understand what their actual power base is and where it comes from. Losing elections is not a threat to Democrat power. Winning elections with actual progressives very, very much is
Only the white working class
I would agree that the US has never had a golden age, but the Roaring 20's would be a closer bet than the New Deal era
When it comes to true history books, Marxists are the only game in town
History books (unless they are written by communists) are not written to educate, remember, they are written to obfuscate and deceive
Personally I would characterize that as an intentionally misleading use of that term, and I think that no one involved in those struggles at that time would use that term to describe that period, even if things are worse now
A "golden age" usually refers to a Pax Romana situation, the empire is at peace and her people are eating well. That is precisely the popular conception of the New Deal era in the US and it could not possibly be further from the truth on either count
I mean both, but you seem to think "golden age" means something very different from what it usually means in common parlance
Which is, of course, the entire purpose behind the "Good Cop Bad Cop" technique, but at this point you have no excuse for falling for it. Wake the fuck up
"Good Cop Bad Cop" doesn't describe two different kinds of cop. There's only one kind of cop. If you think there are two kinds, you have fundamentally misunderstood the kind of situation you are in.
There aren't two sides at all. There's only one.
But you're still responding to a completely different topic from the one my post is about
Just stop, please; if you are not capable of understanding what I am trying to say after I've spent this long trying to clarify it then you are either willfully misunderstanding or not qualified to be taking part in a discussion of it
I am referring to people who thought that things were just great for everyone in the US at that time, for people who uncritically buy Roosevelt's "a car in every garage and a chicken in every pot" rhetoric about shared prosperity for all Americans
A period of great progress in a conflict is not the same thing as a golden age. I am not talking about nostalgia for the Civil Rights movement, which is understandable, if unhelpful. I am talking about nostalgia for the *actual state of the US* during that period, for the way people had to live
No, you don't understand what I'm telling you here
The process has accelerated, but there is absolutely strict continuity in character between every single US administration from Reagan to Trump, both parties included
Under different terminology they've all been doing exactly that for the last 40+ years
They couldn't even afford to try that during the Bush Jr administration, let alone now. It would spell the end of the US government if over half its elected and unelected officials all had to undergo trial
"Golden ages" are not characterized by massive civil unrest and rampant state violence, as a general rule
The movement was amazing previously because the era was not
No, it's not wishful thinking. The danger isn't that MAGA will maintain its power and continue to grow, but rather that the liberal state will gleefully pick up where it left off as a new "normal" to begin grinding us further down against.
The US government has never done a single good thing for US workers and it never will, for as long as it exists. It exists entirely to oppress us.
