Just a quick reminder of who Farage and Reform are. Voting for him/them is a turkey voting for Christmas and I think it's quite obvious how girls and women are valued from the company he keeps.🦃

Bari Weiss & CBS pulled the plug on 60 Minutes CECOT special just hours before it was scheduled to air.

Men who had been sent there risked their lives to tell their stories, and they’ve been silenced by the regime.

This article by The Guardian shines light on the torture & abuse they suffered:
Venezuelans sent by Trump to El Salvador endured systematic torture, report finds
Human rights groups accuse Trump officials of complicity and draw comparison with scandal at Abu Ghraib prison

Think of your biggest financial risk: it's not your stock portfolio, it's losing your paycheck. That's why unemployment is the single best measure of economic health—when people can't earn a living, everything else in the data is just background noise.

And unemployment is rising.

Bad news for #transit. The ridiculously long overdue #WestYorkshire #masstransit system has been delayed. Again. Condemning Leeds/Bradford to be eternally Europe’s largest conurbation without a decent #rail based mass transit system, & proving #UK cannot deliver major infrastructure quickly. Shame.

Christmas 🎄 is also a period of reflection.

Hope that British travellers stuck in their cars at the border have time to reflect that Britain is a small country.

And that just outside it there is a vast free travel area.

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

Closing out my year with a journal editor shocker 🧵

Checking new manuscripts today I reviewed a paper attributing 2 papers to me I did not write. A daft thing for an author to do of course. But intrigued I web searched up one of the titles and that's when it got real weird...

In 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services.

Now the UK owns nothing and has £3tn of debt.

While Norway still owns everything and has the equivalent of £10tn.

That's how privatisation 'works'.

As predicted, a month ago.

No government willingly discloses adverse information, *especially* when it says it is doing so.
One should always be suspicious when the state resists disclosure of documents.

And one should be more suspicious when the state suddenly purports to agree to the disclosure of documents.
