Please read this Facebook post from Darnella Frazier about her sister Rekeya, who is in federal custody.

For those who don't know, Darnella was the girl who shared the first viral video of George Floyd's murder.

I refuse to let this era be defined by the sick villains and spineless cowards. We are surrounded by everyday heroes and they will keep emerging.
Damn this video of a observer/protester climbing a ladder to hand blanket to the construction worker who was surrounded by ICE.

A real ID isn’t an immigration document, which isn’t something Mubashir would have had because HE IS A CITIZEN. They are stopping and kidnapping people of color, assuming they are not citizens, and taking them into custody when citizens naturally don’t have immigration paperwork on them.
Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.

My mom took me to see Gladiator when I was 8. Probably too young to fully appreciate it/be watching it but I remember it ruled.

Also saw Superbad with my dad, perfect age for that one
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

Didn’t the Chief say he was gonna arrest ICE officers for this exact crime? There’s video evidence!

O’Hara was getting glazed up and down for his strong rebuke of ICE on this website mere days ago. But just like his boss, the Mayor, the focus is on winning the press conference. No follow through
Minneapolis leaders stood in silence as they watched footage of federal immigration agents slamming Mubashir, a Somali American, against a metal door and putting him in a chokehold in the snow.
Minneapolis officials decry ICE arrest of Somali American citizen
Videos show ICE arresting a 20-year-old man who local authorities say is a U.S. citizen.

I want some absolutely ghoulish name submissions this years. I want Abolish ICE to be a moderate option

"I would hate TOI-LET this funding go to waste"

@katiecashman.bsky.social at today's meeting, eliciting a deep GROAN from me watching remotely

(Council had to recess the meeting until tomorrow before they could pass it.)
Downtown Minneapolis has a "leaking" problem: There aren't enough good spots to take one.

Later today, the City Council is set to vote on @katiecashman.bsky.social's solution: ongoing funding for public restrooms www.axios.com/local/twin-c...

We did it. We rode the E Line to and from dinner and it ruled. There was a spectacular woman behind us on her way to “eat caviar. It’s my 50th birthday!”
I’m gonna ride it

Chris Meyer uses a revenue argument as a reason to approve new development. He tells the city council they're about to have some really difficult budget decisions. Think of your most important priorities. Then consider the revenue that comes from a new apartment building in Linden Hills.
