those people on those boats weren't a threat before they where bombed by the most powerful navy in the world and they weren't a threat after.

that was cold blooded murder, and there must be justice for it.

if there isn't, murder will be coming to your doorstep soon enough.

So, I found a fun use-case for the most recent ChatGPT.

Finding good translation tools for learning can be quite difficult, as almost every translator out there will transform the grammar, which can make comparisons difficult.

with a basic prompt, i can get it to do something much better.

So uh, remember when a bunch of elon's adopted failsons ran amok in our nations databases and lit a couple libraries worth of research on metaphorical fire?

seems like they got up to some other stuff as well...

break apart google and make the search function a tax funded service.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

east to west jet-lag is fun because one gets to pretend that they're a super productive early morning person without putting in any work.

I met Deb many years ago at the hight of the "maker movement" frenzy.

Her essays on the infrastructure, systems, people and maintenance that make "making" even possible in the first place have stuck with me since then.

This is a good story. 🫜
In Tesco’s this afternoon: an elderly Polish man at the self-checkout, trying to buy a pint of milk and a white radish. There is no picture for the radish on the machine. The assistant doesn’t know what it is. She asks a colleague: “It’s a white radish.” There is no entry for it on the machine.

So I’m very committed to critiquing elected officials, and cringe at cults of personality and all that leftist jazz— but is Zohran, like, a sorcerer?

Holy hell is it *ever* time for "Economic Crimes Against Humanity" to become something we start convicting people of.

We can start by convicting Brian Thompson posthumously. That f**ker sent so many people to an early grave.

Then we can go after the rest.
The crime of genocide didn't exist until after WW2. It was something we decided was real, needed to be identified and punished. Even if we've been spectacularly bad at putting it in practise, we conceptualised it.

I think it's about time for a CEO crime of murder-by-Economy.

i hate to be a downer, but the recent and sudden flip flop on the release of the files is almost certainly due to enough time having passed to scrub them clean of the parts most damaging to the party.

the institutions that hold them are all now fully GOP controlled and beyond corrupt.

Far too many engineers out there reading the literary works of the late Philip K. Dick, not as cautionary tales, but as business plans.
