I asked the robot to split the translation into three parts:

1. original german
2. english literals with german grammar
3. proper english translation

It then parses the image and returns the three modes for comparison.

language is for *encoding* concepts. it's a carrier. in and of itself, it is not a means for building models of the world through experience.

Sometimes that's just making food.

Sometimes it's patiently waiting for them in a park while I entertain myself.

Sometimes it's installing infrared windows so the sun in their studio isn't too hot.

What I get out of it is seeing their work grow and evolve. And also a house filled with art.

whether it is self-maintenance, the maintenance that others do for you, or you do for others, this critical act is something i've come to recognize as equally important as the creative pursuits it enables.

my partner is a painter. my part in their work is making it possible for them to paint.
