It feels like I'm taking back my own body. It feels like its finally mine. I was depressed for so long before coming out, I didn't HATE my body but it never felt like mine

I appreciate the sentiment here but please take note, we don't like the framing of us being "men who transition into women" - we were always women, we transition our biological sex, we transition our bodies to match the gender we've always had

A better phrasing would be "trans women are women" 🙏

I refuse to be optimistic about this until the government themselves announce that the guidance will remain as it is and trans-inclusive

Also dissolving or at the very least removing most of the EHRC would be nice but we can't expect miracles

I can believe it. It also doesn't shock me that most of that is made up by bisexuals. I've always had the theory that (and I say this as a lesbian, not a bisexual) the natural state of humans is a bit bi. Sexuality and gender are too fluid for straight and cis to be "the norm"

I won't get my hopes up until the government actually denies the EHRC the requests and states that the toilets guidance will remain trans inclusive (and does some serious re-organising of the EHRC or removes it entirely) but this does look promising

They do seem to have had pushback from the lower ends of the party which you'd need to become leader or deputy PM

I think this is why Lucy Powell has started being more trans friendly in her messaging and Bridget has toned it down

I don't think its seen as good as think it is. I read some reports a while back that Wes Streeting would not get the support to be leader because he's seen as the transphobic one

It does seem transphobia is a decision the leadership of the party has made but isn't as popular further down

New Zealand doesn’t have a First Amendment — we have Parliamentary sovereignty and NZBORA. Our Parliament banned conversion therapy because it harms people. If Stephen Franks wants US-style “freedom” to abuse LGBTQIA+ kids, he can move there.

Absolutely, this dude utterly sucks!

Many will know a parent who may be doomed to this desperate state - with no way out. Even if they’ve only permitted or aided their innocent child’s groomers without authorising surgery or drugs, some will be haunted. Can they undo the harm? Could they have prevented it?

My firm is trying to help a number of parents who are doing all they can while they can to protect their deluded children.
It is an outrage that the Parliamentarians who passed the conversion therapy ban, despite its direct conflict with freedom of speech, are tolerating the prevarication of Minister Doocey over dangerous ‘gender-affirming’ hormone ‘therapy’ for children

The US Supreme Court is likely to invalidate conversion therapy bans shortly, as contrary to the First Amendment (freedom of speech).
