Oh if you don't have Hulu but you do have four hours, may I recommend the audiobook of Harriet Tubman Live In Concert, the new novel by Bob the Drag Queen, narrated by the author, including two original songs. Not sexy but very funny and moving.
This has been your doomscroll interruption moment, celebrating femme sexual pleasure and power.

If you watch nothing else, watch Robby Hoffman as she lovingly tops Michelle Williams. It'll make your life better.
I may be the only person on earth to cry with joy at hearing sex described as a "nonlinear emergent phenomenon" on tv but, Esco Jouléy, if you're listening, fucking thank you.
Deep in the lockdown I consulted with the writers on some of the sexuality aspects of the story, and I am very proud and moved by the way they integrated my bits of science into the story to make it feminist and true to the experience of a trauma survivor.
Hello, I'm popping my head up into the BlueSkies to say: if you have Hulu and 4 hours, I hope you'll watch Dying for Sex starring Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate.
HOLY SHIT I WON!!!!

SOMETIMES GOOD THINGS HAPPEN YAY
HOLY SHIT SOME GOOD NEWS Come Together was nominated for an Audience!

Narrating my own audiobook is the only thing I ever ask for in my book contracts. I prize them not merely because I love listening to audiobooks, but because they make books accessible to more and different readers.

Republicans no longer pretending to staff customer (voters) service hotline. Keep having town halls, speak to empty chair or make paper mache puppet of your MAGA Rep - you can burn in effigy after you record constituents yelling that we demand an end to the hostile takeover of our government.
NEW — House Republicans are putting the brakes on town halls after blowback over the Trump administration's cuts.

One GOP aide said House Republican leaders are urging lawmakers to stop engaging in them altogether.

if you are the kind of guy who thinks a lot of big thoughts about how you would TOTALLY punch a Nazi if you ever got the chance, I have great (meaning, terrible) news for you about how many public places you can go now where that’s a genuinely useful attitude to have
If you're a white dude with some flexibility in your life, get a group of your like-minded bros together & go to these events to act as counterbalance to these "private security forces." Get in their way. Occupy space. Ask for their IDs. Outnumber them. Make their fascism difficult.
UPDATE: The Coeur d’Alene Press spoke with the woman who was dragged out of a town hall for heckling legislators, confirmed which security firm worked the event and spoke with Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris and Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Lee White about the events.

being obsessed with IQ is a good sign that you have nothing in your life to give you actual meaning. (also a good sign you have bell curve-esque beliefs about human equality)
Coming around to the view that a certain kind of narcissist simply needs Musk to be a genius rather than a fraud, because they want to believe there’s a hereditary Brahmin class of accomplished, beautiful minds—and that they’re a part of that class.

Why is it so hard for cis journalists to write about trans people in a way that assumes trans people exist and are people?

That's a rhetorical question, I know why, please don't explain it, I'm just enraged.
We need a phase when all stories about trans people can only be written by trans people, so we don't get garbage like this over and over. Cisgender journalists, please decline these stories and refer your editor to a trans journalist. FFS.
The Washington Post's treatment of the Trump administration's anti-trans eliminationist language and policy here is appalling.

What *is* that second paragraph, in particular, and for what other groups would the Post consider it acceptable to just describe as a "philosophy"?
