Being emotionally blackmailed about going to work again

He's getting ridden every day, and has probably never been quite that clean...so if/when he moves back to real homeplace these days, he'll probably be super-fit, too. Meanwhile, now that my internet's back, I can order Instacart instead of driving (round trip) 40 miles.

have any now. (Update time, though. Rags, my former Paint, is in college now, with the young woman who was taking lessons on him. I wondered how he'd do in that, because he's always been managed mostly or entirely on grass, not stalled and he now lived In The Barn. He looks smug about it.)

I'll just watch Elphick Event Ponies for a few minutes relaxation...the next thing I know it's an hour later and I've wandered from that horse site to Rudnik the Roan and then The Careful Cowgirl, and then....etc, etc. and an entire afternoon can be spent watching other peoples' horses since I don't

And then there's the time-sink aspect. There's always a ton of things to watch/listen to 24/7 and no way to "keep up" because time...goes on whether you want it to or not. I could make good, fruitful use of a 48 hour day but I can't back-to-back days the way I could in my 20s. If I think

We can see each other. Talk to each other. And I'm old enough that when I was a kid, you had to get the operator to connect you to another phone, and long-distance calls involved at least three operators (origin, destination, and a specialist in between.)

anywhere they are (and have a signal), and work on a book with another writer, talking stuff over with the book "live" as we discuss and move stuff around in it. I'm in a writing group whose members are scattered from Texas to Maine to Florida to western Canada and points in between.

With my current connection, I've watched horses, dolphins, and bison giving birth (I've seen humans, live), eagles pluck fish out of the water, hummingbirds' tongues at work in a flower, and much, much more. And I can check my bank balance anytime day or night, pay bills online, contact friends

and the things I could do. (If you never spent 20 minutes watching a 4 minute steeplechase load in increments so could see a famous race out of the past (Desert Orchid, Cheltenham Gold Cup, his last time winning it, you don't get "slow connection's" reality.)

It's humbling to realize how dependent I've become on internet. What did it for me was the really, REALLY fast connection I have now, compared to when I started crawling on line with a 14.4 whatchits telephone modem. I liked it, it was useful, but the gradual move to faster increased the utility,

What we do is turn the meaning of the images around. That the show of force DOES NOT REPRESENT THE PEOPLE. It represents those who want to destroy the people.

You need to see this:

“The show of force is the point. They want these images to be out…The Department of Homeland Security is walking around Chicago with a film crew.” @jacobsoboroff.bsky.social

Things to do in the future:

1. Putting them all on trial for crimes against humanity at the Hague

2. Totally reforming entire government to root out corruption and abuse of power so this bullshit never happens again

3. At some point you’d imagine, brunch

Apparently, they don’t hand out a Nobel Peace Prize to those who negotiated a ceasefire they had sabotaged a year ago just to get elected.

I want farmers to understand how they contributed to this mess, but they aren't the only ones who contributed to this mess, and they CAN help restore respect for farming, ranching, conservation of resources, and service to the country, which is the foundation of good governance.

and learn to make the hard changes that will be needed to get farming (and everything else) out of the stinkin' hole it's in now...and elect better people--better character, better plans--than those now piling more manure & corpses in that hole.

I grew up in farm country. I've known farmers and ranchers all my life. Back in healthier political days that meant I knew Dem farmers and GOP farmers and a range of political positions. This is a tough learning situation for farmers & many others. I want them to realize they were cheated,

Annoyed as I am about farmers who could not see the cannon aimed at them and cheerfully voted for the bad guys, I am still not willing to say "Farmers..." in the same way they say "Women..." and "Democrats." NOT ALL FARMERS, are THOSE farmers. Not all THOSE farmers are beyond hope.
